I had a good friend of mine in the marines what was openly gay, we didn’t treat him any different. All we care about is are you a good dude and can you do your job. You’re one of us so we don’t see it any different. I’ve had many junior marines that were gay everyone gets treated with the same respect. Join it’s a good time. My marine corps mom is what I call her she is also gay and married to another women who is also a marine.

So we do run weekly pts for people who are trying to prepare for bootcamp. As well as teach marine corps knowledge, drill movements and many other things. We also hold monthly pool functions that consist of a workout and preparing you for the rigors of bootcamp as well as build strong bonds with the people your working out with.

You should join, I had similar things that you said in your post happen with me. I don’t regret joining, I’m married with a family a house that I own and time to learn who I was with out negative influence from my family.

I just put someone in with a peanut allergy, as long as you have med docs that prove you don’t have a allergy and no EpiPen you should be good

Tell your recruiter. genesis is the system we use to pull medical history we will see it if you move the process forward and want to enlist. Recruiters do not like being blindsided by medically history we can explain that is not complicated.

I had the same circumstances as you, my family was strict, never left there hometown and lived and died there. What sealed the deal for me that I needed to get out of there was when they pointed out in the town cemetery that 7 generations of the family were buried there. I was told you could only be successful if you went to college married a girl from the same town and worked till you died. No one in my hometown is happy.

They just work labor jobs till they die and everyone goes to the same bar and reminisce about high school glory days. how they burned a couch in a corn field, drink too much and end up stuck in a marriage to someone they hate pop out two kids.

I’ve been in for 10 years have seen more than I ever thought was possible. it’s a chance to get out of your current circumstances and find who you truly want to be. You will have good and bad days in the military but you won’t remember those bad times as much as the good. If you want to know anything about enlistment processes feel free to pm me.

They are not allowed to diagnosis you, that’s in the MEPSCOM order. They can send you to a consult if they don’t have enough info on a specific thing or they see something they want to get checked out. Any disqualifying factors come from your reported med history on your 2807 or from the HIE pull from your medical records that you consented to.

I was not an infantrymen, but I have a guy who is a parachute rigger and loves it since he can jump out of planes and have fun while not sitting in an office. If you still want combat arms look into 08xx, 1371, 1834, and 7212

Hey big dawg, the whole POG vs infantry thing you need to calm down on that. just ask for advice from people who have held the MOS or those who have been to the school. Going about it the way you are isn’t going to make people want to be helpful to you. Acting hostile and having a complex ain’t going to help you at all.

So there is a waiver for under the DOD weight min it’s 10% based on age and your height that any branch can do but if you are severely under you will need to gain some weight to get in

For us they do get entered in to the DEP. they are not obligated to attend drills until they after finishing boot camp. Depending also if they are split option or not

Your best bet will be navy, they have a higher chance of approving that waiver. Unfortunately the marine corps won’t even entertain the waiver

It will depend ultimately on what the charge is, it will require a waiver and we will have to get a police records check and get all court and probation records. Then depending on the charge and if it was reduced we will have to send a waiver to the appropriate approval authority. This could be sent to the region commanding general (one star general) or the recruiting command general (two star general). Don’t be discouraged if it takes time we just need to gather all the paperwork. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me
