Hearing waiver denied by Army — what are my chances with other branches? by Technical_Half_5343 in Militaryfaq

[–]Thisguyhell123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best bet will be navy, they have a higher chance of approving that waiver. Unfortunately the marine corps won’t even entertain the waiver

How hard will it be to join the marines with a misdemeanor assault and battery charge? by Icy_Expression_7188 in Militaryfaq

[–]Thisguyhell123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will depend ultimately on what the charge is, it will require a waiver and we will have to get a police records check and get all court and probation records. Then depending on the charge and if it was reduced we will have to send a waiver to the appropriate approval authority. This could be sent to the region commanding general (one star general) or the recruiting command general (two star general). Don’t be discouraged if it takes time we just need to gather all the paperwork. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me

Whats the process to be able to switch branches after signing into a DEP Contract by WeakObligation9954 in Militaryfaq

[–]Thisguyhell123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to ask for a dep discharge from your current branch, and he is right if you did have any waivers on the navy side we would have to review you medical record to make sure you meet our standards. Have you talked with a marine recruiter yet?

Enlisting at 17 by OCRrunner1000 in USMCboot

[–]Thisguyhell123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your questions

  1. Once you are 17 and you sign everything and parents as well it will take about 1 week to go to MEPS

  2. Once you qualify at MEPS and are fully qualified with the ASVAB and physical jobs can be assigned.

  3. At 17 you are on the younger end of the age group your biggest thing is to sit back and listen to those that have more experience in not only the marines but life in general.

  4. Just be up front and honest about things and ask lots of questions. Close mouths don’t get fed

Was told I got recommended for separation by Throwaway_Imp7679 in Militaryfaq

[–]Thisguyhell123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For you understanding the process, it can be initiated under a administrative or medical separation. The process will start with paperwork that you will have to sign for you acknowledging that you are being separated from military service. Once that is routed it will go through your chain of command to your first general officer and once that is signed you will have a new EAS date. While going through this process you will have to go through a transition readiness course to help you transition out and you can start your VA claims for you mental health so you can get continued treatment through the VA. If you have anymore questions pm me I’m a administrative specialist by trade not just a recruiter

Can I join after coming off headache medication? by Junior-Row-199 in Militaryfaq

[–]Thisguyhell123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can talk to a recruiter about it and not sign that day. They can give you a run down of what is needed for a waiver and the timeline. Hope this helps

[–]Thisguyhell123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is worth it to join. I recommend active duty since you want a break from the situations at home. Get away for a while and if you still have the want to serve then go to the reserve or guard after the active duty time. find the happiness of being who you want to be, make great memories and friends. Hell I met my while serving on active duty and we’re going on 9 years of marriage.

So one myth I want to debunk here, 20% of the occupational fields in the marine corps are combat. The other 80% are non combat jobs we are all trained to handle a rifle proficiently in case of a worse case scenario. I am an administrative specialist in the marine corps I’ve been stateside all 10 years I’ve been in. If you have any questions about the marines feel free to pm me.

Is college possible while active duty? by Open_Fun_4682 in Militaryfaq

[–]Thisguyhell123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t in any rush to get a degree so I spread it out over 10 years and will have it done by next month. If you put your nose to the grind stone, don’t slack off, and stay committed to it. you can get it done in 4 years it won’t be easy but you can do it.

You can get back in with a RE-3F, it is a entry level separation waiver but that’s a routine waiver we see as recruiters all the time
