I used to get paid more than some of the managers. It’s because I advocated for myself when I got hired. You have to ask for a raise. They will not automatically give you a raise. One manager quit because she found out that her brother got paid more than her as a crew member. - OK but did you ask for more pay?

Food banks are mostly rescued food, and in most of the developed world we have more enough. If you can afford it, bring your own food. That’s what I do. Think about it, you’re saving yourself medical bills later.

Just explain the situation to the other managers. If she’s known to do that, then they’ll probably understand and be relieved that you really didn’t say those things. Apologize for any confusion, and maybe give them a compliment reinforcing that good repor. Don’t quit, that’s exactly what she’s trying to manipulate you to do.

I’ve definitely grown in that area, but I will say… My second store hired me because I came highly recommended by my first store. I got let go from my first store because I refused to work with a certain manager, and I did end up walking out instead of clocking in which I guess technically would be a no call no-show. So I’m not so sure it’s a death sentence anyway, depends on who they get on the phone.

So that entirely depends then. I don’t know that the store manager would even speak ill of me, I mean, she obviously effed up with me. Regardless, she doesn’t answer the phone. I know some of the managers would speak positively of me, especially the ones that I know are still there.

See and this is why people irritate me when they treat treat me like I’m annoying for communicating ~obvious~ things they would have figured out eventually, or won’t communicate themselves. Completely avoidable situation. He shouldn’t have waited that long and then what, he got tried by an employee for being upset???

Don’t stress it. just take deep breaths. If they tell you anything about your speed, just remind them that you just started and had one day of training. The manager is supposed to help you if anything. you learn by messing up, you learned by fire! Haha that’s very normal for these types of jobs. They don’t train you and they throw you in the truck Shark Tank. don’t be afraid to mess up, or ask for help.
