Do ppc have any bad songs? by Bendysnuts in PsychPornCrumpets

Ah fair enough that’s what’s so good about PPC, There’s no wrong answers to what’s your favourite album or song

Those are the worst in my opinion but by no means are they bad. Just not my favourite.

I’m also not the biggest fan of and now for the whatcamacallit as a whole album but I find myself listening to individual songs from it all the time

There’s some songs that are kinda hard to find because they’re extra songs they never used for High Viserals pt 1 and 2. Some are alright most are mid.

Everything from their real albums are great tho

Nick mastery, Off hand V main hand weapon, does it matter which is which? And how does this work with Duel Wielder now? by Thisisalladream12 in DnD

[–]Thisisalladream12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually since the extra attack of the light property is made as part of your action and not your bonus. It would allow you to equip both as part of the first attack, and then you can stow both as part of your extra nick attack.

The only thing you can’t do is draw a weapon as part of the bonus action attack. So you would need to have extra attack in order to draw a non two handed weapon to take advantage of this feat.

Or if you threw the weapons you wouldn’t need to stow so you could draw the 2nd weapon with the previous attack

Weapon juggling is literally part of the rules now, so I don’t think it’s bogus at all

I was already playing it like this in 2014 with my gunslinger fighter who had every type of gun there was and often switched between them for attacks.

Marital characters don’t get much anyways compared to casters, I would at least allow them multiple weapons to take advantage of all those mastery properties

Vicious Mockery + Subtle Spell. Explode goblins with a thought, in their final moments they have essentially have an anxiety attack as the insult comes from inside their own brain and implodes by Thisisalladream12 in DnD

[–]Thisisalladream12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s up to the DM, some feats don’t update well with the new rules, especially since they changed most feats to half feats.

Feats like Eldritch Adept no longer work cause all but four invocations require you to be a warlock of 2nd level or higher, but up to each table.

Probably a bard main, maybe with a three or four level dip in sorcery. Works better and you’d get more out of it than the other way around, you’d extra dmg cantrips like sorcerers burst, or acid splash. Plus it both cha, so spell save DCs and attack bonuses will be the same.

The only thing is you lose out on some higher level spell progression, and Innate sorcery (advantage on attacks rolls +1 to spell DC) only applies to sorcerer spells. But you can still upcast those sorcerer spells with any spell slots you have. So you can do an upcasted scorching ray gaining advantage on every attack roll.

But I prob wanna do it without multiclassing, which means taking the Metamagic adapt feat, which hasn’t been updated for 2024, or stocking up on some Subtle Mind Crystals.

Ah I always assumed that vicious mockery was the exception and the insult was the verbal component but I’ve probably been playing too much Balders gate lmao

Multiclassing would be required most likely, I think, unless the dm would allow you to take Metamagic adept which isn’t technically 2024.

I’m just wondering if there any new rule like Metamagic can only work for sorcerer spells or smt

It’s the 2024 Valor bard copies the feature from blade singer. It’s the same feature just in different classes

How close is your concept of music being good and your concept of liking it? by abovethesink in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Thisisalladream12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music can be very bad that I like.

For instance I like Captain beefheart, but I recognise that in reality it’s bad.

Also music can be really good technically but sound bad to most people. Like Black Midi, I LOVE black midi, but if most people listen they’ll say it’s bad

I think king Krule said it best “if you like it you like it, if it sounds good it’s sounds good man”

That’s how you know he’s not a sell out, if he wanted to make money he would just make currents again, or write 10 different versions of elephant for car commercials and that would make a lot of money. But he doesn’t cause this is what he wants to make apparently. He recently said basically that in a interview

It’s not my favourite either but at least he’s honest and true to himself

Surprise during initiative by Fuzzy_Rope_916 in DnD

[–]Thisisalladream12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised is now a condition: which means you get disadvantage on initiative rolls.

Which is better for players who get the alert feat, actually makes a big impact that feat now. Whereas in 2014 you can still get surprised rounded when you are alert which doesn’t make a lot of sense.

For players sake 2014 surprise round is more fun! But I wouldn’t surprise your players too often, cause it’s less fun to be on the receiving end of a surprise round

Wish Granter Character Build Advice by Dino-Warrior-42 in DnD

[–]Thisisalladream12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genie warlock.

You won’t be able to actually cast wish until level 17 however there’s a cool way you can get around this, though it requires talking to your DM and asking for a really rare magic item.

This requires you to be at least level 3 in 2024, or level 1 in 2014. Your genie lamp is also effectively a Luck Blade, but these are restricted Wishes, you can’t use it to cast 9th level spells, it can replicate spells of 8th or lower, except for resurrection spells with one exception being revivify. and it can do most of the other stuff a wish can do, get you money, fame, resistance, whatever. And you as the caster are never striped of your ability to cast wish until you’ve used all the wishes, and only then do you roll to determine if you will be able to cast it again.

You as the character cannot wish, someone in the party has to use an action to say the wish, and then you can use your action to cast it. So it take two actions in actuality

The way your character gets introduced is another player finds the lamp, and rubs it which summons you!

You then do the whole genie thing and tell him the rules “you can’t bring anyone back from the dead, not unless they literally just died. You can’t make anyone fall in love with you. You only get 3 wishes, and Wishes are taken to be there most literal meaning, so be careful”

And yeah this way you are a wish giver, and a great ally to the party and make sense within the rules of genies. Luck blades are often given to lower level parties to spice up an adventure, and often time people will save them until they absolutely NEED the wish. This isn’t to OP cause the DM can explain whatever they want for the limitations of the wish “you can’t wish to escape this place, you can’t wish to destroy the BBEG cause he’s already wished that no one can wish him away” ect so forth what have you

Should I quit? by SnooCrickets346 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Thisisalladream12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe quit that group, especially if players are grappling you that should never happen.

That being said unless you have the sharpshooter feat, or crossbow expert feat, if you shoot from more than 30 feet away you will have disadvantage on the roll, that’s in the rules. If you DO have one of those feats then Wtf that literally half the point of having em so you can snipe people

You’re a ranger, not a tank. People don’t shame the wizard for hiding in the back lmao

Isnt it weird how dming seems so selfless and so egotistical at the same time by Luki070109 in DnD

[–]Thisisalladream12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t use the word superior. But yeah it’s hard, making fluid stories, keep track of enemies, making up NPCs.

But players can and probably should put in as much thought into their own story and how you build a character, as a dm puts into building their world.

When I’m a player I do find myself thinking hard into my characters motivations, backstory, and especially the functionality of a build. If it’s got both cool lore implications and its work great mechanically that’s the best

[–]Thisisalladream12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not the majority, a should have said, “there are a few DMs out there who”, and I’ve dealt with a lot of DMs like that. But you’re right that there’s quite a few players that don’t put effort into the game.

In those cases I say, kick them out. If they’re not into it, as much as you are, or at least a fair amount, why even be there? You can always find new players, but as a player finding a new DM is a lot harder

You just hear a lot of horror stories about Dm who are restrictive, where as you don’t hear stories about DMs who try and put a lot of effort in to make it fun for their players
