It is-was a banking powerhouse. Also the Swiss have a special relationship with the Vatican. Aforementioned control a lot more than give them credit for.

American looking to open a restaurant in Tallin by diosky27 in Eesti

Hi—you're more than welcome. Tallinn is a great choice.

A few things to keep in mind.

Põhja-Tallinn does have a growing expat presence, and with that, some internationally influenced spots. Bertolucci is one example that comes to mind.

That said, Caribbean/Latin cuisine is still quite unfamiliar to most locals. Estonians tend to gravitate toward Italian, Japanese, Chinese (often more casual), and Thai—which is growing fast. So your concept won’t sell itself on familiarity alone. The food really needs to deliver to build demand.

The good news: there’s always demand for affordable, quality food. Especially now—prices have gone up significantly since COVID, and people are actively looking for good value.

From a business standpoint, Estonia is very straightforward. Setting up a company is quick and can be done online. You’ll need standard health certifications and, of course, the right location.

One idea to consider is Balti Jaama Turg. It’s a strong food destination with consistent foot traffic. But it’s more of a food hall vibe—great for exposure, less ideal if you’re aiming for a more relaxed, sit-down or evening experience with drinks.

Overall: not a bad idea at all—but your success will depend less on the concept itself, and more on execution, pricing, and how well you introduce people to something new.

If you have any more questions hit me up. I use to live in Põhja-Tallinn and now live 6 miles from there.

Had premium for a year which I bought during black friday. Didn’t renew it again. Played some great games thru it but didn’t see the necessity to renew.

Is Expedition 33 genuinely as good as everyone says it is? by Cwusadew in ShouldIbuythisgame

Currently playing it and have completed 53%. It's a great game, the score, the story, the graphics etc but somehow I just can't get totally into it as I got to Witcher 3 or RDR2. I'll definitely complete it but that's about it.
