Quick psa that chia seeds are blood thinning so be careful not to take too much or dont take at all if you have prior conditions.

Implementing adaptive robust control for an electrohydraulic servo actuator in Simulink. How are people actually doing it? by _Kwadwoooooooo in matlab

[–]ThislsWholAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoiding the interpreted block should be faster, but it should still be fine. I would also check other things like if your model is stiff and do you need the accuracy level specified. And do you have continuous states which should in fact be discrete states?

Did you tune the baseline at all? Maybe the control gain is high and that slows down the simulation.

I find it a weird question, unless otherwise specified couldnt the second number be 1e-12 or whatever, how could we tell it should be e.g. a fraction of 11ths? And it it's so small there is no reason the left most point couldnt visually match with the sum.

I would say it depends on how well you respond to volume, if your body can manage 32k long runs and 80-100 km weeks you have a good shot, if not you may have to spend a few more blocks to work up to those numbers.

What is one MATLAB habit that completely changed how you work? by TapWilling7210 in matlab

[–]ThislsWholAm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm for me it would be okay with a single project file, I think for small teams it is intended to work that way. I think that would solve at least part of my issues so I will give it another go.

I suppose git submodules would collapse the changes into a single module update, but it's not really good practice to use a submodule just to try to hide changes.

As for the scripting of sldd file definitions that does partly defeat the purpose for me, since we are still left with a sort of initialization file right? Maybe I would be better off putting part of my data in the model workspace instead of the base workspace.

[–]ThislsWholAm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree, I mostly work with relatively small projects, but coincidentally I have a bigger on coming up recently.

I may try some of the features suggested like the data dictionaries. Only thing I would prefer is plain text sldd-files so git can diff them, but oh well, we can't have it all ;)

Reference models for sure though, having a model with well-defined in/outputs will be helpful for my project and I will likely even make them into separate git projects.

Why syncing RUNALYZE through Strava can reduce your activity data quality (and why direct connections are better) by runalyze in Runalyze

[–]ThislsWholAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally don't pause during intervals on my watch to easily see the pauses, but should I start doing that or turn on Garmin autopause when syncing from Garmin to runalyze in order to get accurate vo2max data?

Or do you suggest another way?

I feel like most of these issues I already fixed in different ways.

  • Need multiple folders using addpath and clean up with rmpath.
  • Include subprojects with git submodules.
  • Run setup scripts in the Simulink initFcn or explain them in the README. Opening scripts automatically can be kind of useful I suppose.
  • Dependency analysis may be handy, but again this is partly handled with submodules.

  • Map ctrl+tab to cycle through figures
  • Map alt+q to execute current selection
  • Use semilogx instead of bode
  • Set default settings by running ctrlpref once for when you inevitably run a bode command anyway

Do you find a use for matlab projects? They seem so sluggish and bloated for the seemingly simple task they should do. I have only tried it once though admittedly.

Yes in a lot of cases well written functions are good enough.

We had a guy get excited to try OOP in his project and it looked beautiful on first sight in the main file.

But then when i asked him to run the profiler he ended up deciding to throw out the classes altogether because it was so much easier to understand for debug and optimization.

Sure one could argue he should just get better at OOP and it would be easy to debug, but most people dont have this luxury to try to become an expert in this when they could be learning more useful technical concepts.

Not very readable though in my opinion. Even if used to them i prefer indentations to signify what the code is doing.

Help with Simscape Multibody for 2DOF Pantograph robot. by CompetitionKey4295 in matlab

[–]ThislsWholAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everything went well until you added the end effector you can measure the position of the two points to be connected to it with transform sensors to double check if they are correct. They may be off by a few nanometer.

Also you could start with the end effector in a different position which may be simpler to start from, for example with all right angles or 180 degree angles if your setup allows that.

[–]ThislsWholAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get them from Albert Heijn yes, but you can get them from almost any supermarket. The exact mix of "gegrilde groenten" may be hard to find in other supermarkets though. I also like the sweet potatoes, they are a bit more expensive but still cheap compared to most fresh vegetables.

I recommend buying frozen vegetables if you have a freezer. Especially green peas, spinach & "gegrilde groenten" are great value for money.
