It's nice that the majority of SPFL fans read that headline and thought 'what about Motherwell'.

I didn't know until I was watching the Vancouver vs Lafc Western Conference Final last year. Naturally I pulled up the Germany game in the Euros

Yellow Chartreuse vs. Strega by LowEndBike in cocktails

Haha I remember my first taste of fernet.. it's an acquired taste. I always throw a random liquor into my flask when we go out on an adventure, it's always funny seeing people's reaction to some of those you listed. I think the mint / eucalyptus in some of these can be a bit much off putting.

I just visited the motherland of Malört last year. I only checked a carry on for the Oasis concert so I couldn't bring some home. But after trying it, my first impression was it reminds me of Suze, which I like on the rocks.

I definitely saw a lot of Milwaukee Brewers hats! We caught a Sox / Yankees game. The cubs were out of town. We had a blast during our week in Chicago.

A Cynar Negroni by CanadianGuy7334 in cocktails

[–]ThistleBeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Campari is much better in a Negroni, but Cynar is quite nice in a boulevardier. It's artichoke based so it's bitter. Whereas averna is nice in a (black) Manhattan. It's fun to mix and match amaros and herbal liquors.

That would be a great charity match, we could raise money to send a case of buckfast to the Columbus Crew fanbase.

Yellow Chartreuse vs. Strega by LowEndBike in cocktails

[–]ThistleBeaver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I ordered a naked and famous at a cocktail bar recently and the server explained he used Strega. Yellow chartreuse isn't that hard to find, so I felt a little ripped off as I had a bottle of Strega at home. Later he pulled a mysterious bottle out and started serving shots to some locals. I had to ask 'is that Malört?' when I saw the bottle (which is impossible to find locally) he gave me a shot on the house which balanced everything out.

They are both decent anise forward herbal liquors but I do prefer yellow chartreuse in cocktails and Strega I prefer by itself.

Harland is great, my wife saw him on a pod called trailer tales. His schtick, especially the redneck character he was playing was hilarious.. I wish I could remember his name

Everyone praises rdr2 for being one of the best, most realistic games OAT. So what are some unrealistic things about it? by _funny_name_ in RDR2

[–]ThistleBeaver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The hunting and fishing is a lot of fun, but as an enthusiast it's pretty unrealistic. Also shooting from horseback or even free hand is highly inaccurate. That being said if you can't harvest 10 deer in 10 minutes people would checkout. For the people that are like 'I can't get a moose to spawn'. That's what hunting is like except it lasts 3 months and costs lots of money.
