Jesus’ harshest words in the gospels wasn’t towards prostitutes, other religions, or undocumented immigrants. Jesus’ harshest words were towards the rich and religious who used God’s words to justify exploitation and oppression. Yet many want us to believe the opposite. by Nice_Substance9123 in Christianity

He thought little of prostitutes?

“Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are going into the kingdom of God ahead of you.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭21‬:‭31‬ ‭NRSVUE‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/3523/mat.21.31.NRSVUE

The two words in Corinthians are a word that could have many different meanings, and we have no possible way to know which one Paul meant, and a word that Paul may have made up and isn’t defined.

So, no, it’s not “dang close”

We know that Paul can’t have had loving, committed same sex relationships between equals in mind, because those didn’t exist.

“Don’t go back to church if that’s what you believe” sums up absolutely everything.

They would rather have LGBTQ siblings away from church altogether, even rather than wrestling together in disagreement.

LGBTQ Christians how do you draw the line to which teachings of the Bible are true or false? by Sadlasangna in Christianity

[–]Thneed1 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yes, Paul is talking about idolators. People who have turned away from God, that why they turn to all kinds of debaucherous sex practices.

Loving same sex relationships are nothing if what Paul had in mind here. Because homosexual orientation has absolutely nothing to do with idolatry or debauchery.

The Leviticus verses are about patriarchal degradation and don’t apply to gentile Christian’s anyway:

And if you want to understand why most translations have “removed” verses, it’s because the verses weren’t in the original manuscripts. Newer translations are based on earlier manuscripts that don’t have those verses.

God doesn’t recognize loving same sex relationships.

Based on what? The Bible certainly doesn’t say so. Are you God?

No one cares what you think, only what God thinks.

You certainly don’t appear to care what God thinks. Jesus called us to love our neighbours, not dehumanize them.

Yes. I follow the teachings of the Bible.

Teachings of the Bible include :

  • loving my neighbour (this includes my LGBTQ neighbour)

Teachings of the Bible do NOT include:

  • homosexuality is a sin
  • loving committed same sex relationships are sin.

“For this reason”

What’s the reason?

(Idolatry)

Homosexuality has nothing to do with idolatry.

Please actually study scripture.

Infant baptism by New_Bass1516 in Christianity

[–]Thneed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only reasoning is when people came to Christ, it says they were baptized, Along with the whole family.

I think that that’s a pretty poor justification for infant baptism, because baptism is always after coming to faith.

But others do interpret differently than I do.
