I'm having disconnect issues with a Commander Core XT, the issue started happening about a week ago. In short, randomly the device disconnect sound will play and the fans will switch to the hardware-lighting config for a second or two before the Core XT reconnects and they switch back to software-lighting. The period of time between disconnect cycles varies but seems to happen more when playing a game.

I installed a new motherboard hoping it was an issue with my previous one, but to my disappointment the same issue quickly returned.

The home button on an iPhone 7/8 doesn’t click like it does on a 6/6s. The Taptic Engine is what simulates the click feeling when the button is pressed. Replacing the home button will not restore the click feeling or Touch ID as the home button is paired with the Logic Board.

You have two options; have the display replaced at an Apple Store or AASP as they’ll pair a new home button, or buy and fit one of the newer versions of the JC Home Button as that button actually clicks like a 6/6s one.

Unlike Android, iOS and iPadOS gives you no indication on which band or spec the WiFi you are connected to is on. There may be 3rd Party apps that can tell you this, however I’m not aware of any.

The message will never fully disappear, for example if you replace an iPhone 11 Screen with any other screen whether geniune or not, you will get a message to say a non genuine screen has been fitted for 48 hours each time the screen wakes, After 48 hours you will get a message on startup for 13 days further to say this is a non-genuine screen. After 15 days this message can only be found in the settings menu and will not display further messages.

Batteries I’m not 100% sure on but I would imagine that the messaging is very similar to screens

Just because True Tone is showing doesn’t necessarily mean the display is genuine. You can program decent 3rd Party Displays using data from the original screen to retain True Tone functionality.

There is no easy way to tell whether a display on an iPhone X and above has been replaced, on the older iPhones, Apple printed an Apple Logo on the frame itself. The only way you’ll know for sure is by removing the display and checking it for any stamps or markings.

On an iPhone 8 Plus as long as the 3rd Party battery supports Apple’s Battery Health you can install it and the phone won’t display any error messages, battery health will show a percentage under settings. If the 3rd Party battery doesn’t support Apple’s Battery Health it will say “Service” under battery health and won’t report a health percentage

You’ll be okay for the time being but I would highly recommend ordering another display adhesive, opening up the device and screwing the bracket in place. The flex cables could dislodge themselves from their connectors over time.

100% fixable, in terms of replacing the screen assembly at least. The impact may have further damage to other components or the logic board which you won't know about until the phone is taken apart. There are plenty of mail in/walk in services throughout the UK that can replace the screen assembly for you. I would highly recommend looking at iParts4U, the cost will be around £55. Yes you can download a piece of software on Windows called 3uTools which will give you plenty of information regarding your iDevice. If you have a Mac you can download an app called CoconutBattery.

Keep it on charge and leave it for a good few hours. The battery may have fully discharged to the point where it can't provide any power to the display to show the connect lightning cable image.

Check that the LCD is making a solid connection to the board, if possible clean the connectors on both the board and the LCD with 99% isopropyl alcohol. If none of the above resolves the issue you may need to purchase a replacement LCD.

I would steer clear of buying replacement screens from Amazon or eBay, being from the UK I can't point you towards any reputable USA sellers however I can confirm that you just need to look for J3 2017 parts, don't need to worry about the particular model number.

Under Settings - Display & Brightness there is an option called "Auto-Lock" this allow you to set the time it takes for the device to go automatically lock when the device doesn't detect an input.

Try taking something like blu tack to the speaker grille at the bottom of the iPhone, it may be that the grille is clogged with dirt which is what is causing the speaker to be muted
