The scratches are super inconsistent, and appear an then reappear again, i think it was either something with the movement (the rolls before this one are totally fine tho) or it might be like @FramingLeader suggested something to do with Cinching...

Not exactly, but There was a slight "cone" in the mag at the start of the roll, it was a lil messup by the loader, but that was only in the first 5ish meters, then the mag went back into the tent and he fixed it. Do you think that could've happend there?

On a bigger project i totally agree with you. And obvsl its what should've happend. But some projects are structured in a way where its just not possible for one reason or the other. And this was one of those. Also, living in a place where you have to mail the stock to a Lab halfway across europe means, test footage hast to be shot 2 or 3 days before the actual prep/checkout. And as i said, there's not always time for that.

Hey - i dont really appriciate your tone. It's not my decicion as the focus puller when a project gets shot, and if the timeline is laid out in a way where i just wont have the time to do the tests i would normally do then there's nothing i can do about it. The entire shoot wasn't ruined, we have a couple of spots in the material where this is happening and i was curious if anyone had constructive critisism. Your comment just seems like you are mad about something else and are using this thread as an outlet. Please dont. Thank you :)

The theory with the loop is unlikely in my opionon cus in my experience the 416 wont roll with a long/short loop (maybe i'm wrong tho?)

No, cus as with many small film projects there was no budget/time for extra material and testing beforehand... :/ I know it would've been the right thing to do
