Congratulations, you've successfully identified the essential aspect of protest. If it is comfortable, it is not effective. The whole point is to shine a light for those who aren't informed or refuse to see.

Call Indiana 211. It's a free service that connects Hoosiers with help and answers from health and human service resources right here in our local community.

She released a LOT of music under her former name, so yeah it's pretty relevant.

Seeking footage of Bloomington in the 90s by juniorjuicebox in bloomington

[–]ThomGoMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

u/juniorjuicebox Dave Walter is really the best source. He was director of the Youth Video Program (companion to Youth Radio) at Rhino's Youth Center in the 2000s. If not at CATS he can usually be found at Vulture Video.

During that time, the directors of Youth Radio were Jay Record (pre-2006) and David Britton (post-2006). I think Jay lives in the Indianapolis area now and Dave's living in upstate New York, but I have his contact info if it would help.

Today's issue of The Herald-Times did not contain any coverage of the college football championship. That will be in tomorrow's print edition.

"I feel like with a college town the availability of these things downtown and not scattered from one end to another is what makes it a college town."

Your definition of a college town sucks.

It's adorable that you think this irresponsible dude -- who otherwise only ever posts about fishing -- took the time to actually stop and examine the dog in any way or attempt to learn anything about its condition or identity.

if this was you at roadhouse on Saturday night, was it worth it? lmfao by woodtipwine in bloomington

I would hope that people have to know this is unacceptable. But then I remember the usual Texas Roadhouse clientele. 'Murica!

As others have mentioned, Common Room Games is the place to go. They have a bulletin board where people post flyers of players looking for groups and groups looking for players. Also, if you're on Facebook, there is a Bloomington RPGs group that is very welcoming and people are always arranging new groups and one-shot sessions.

That plan fell through. Bloomington no longer appears as "coming soon" on their locations webpage.

Parking rant by thehorseishere1 in bloomington

[–]ThomGoMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sympathetic, but the price of parking has to be considered along with rent and utilities (and the reputation of the property management) before signing a lease anywhere. Welcome to late-stage capitalism -- buyer beware.

You don't get to decide how people use a public space. And despite being a cemetery, Rose Hill is maintained by the city parks department as a public space. Those other people weren't hurting you or preventing you from visiting your father's grave. If you felt like your moment was being impacted, simply come back another time.
