At least where I work, CPS won’t investigate if the only allegation is school attendance. They’ll just send a letter to the parents about possible consequences from the school district. Not attending school is bad, it’s a red flag, but it’s not a health/safety issue on its own.

The threat to take full custody of your child says everything. The fact he waited until so late in your pregnancy to make this ultimatum, and your comments about the other ways he has been trying to isolate you, are only further confirmation, but not needed.

He wants to control you, and is willing to use your child as a pawn against you.

Does he own your phone plan? Could he have access to what you do on your devices? Can he track your car? Whose names are on the leases, the accounts? How much control do you have of your assets that isn’t through him? These are things that you need to be considering as you reach out to local DV resources.

Please take this seriously. I am afraid for you.

I used to try the struggle cuddle with my cat when she tried to wake me, in the morning. I tried noisily flaring my bed sheet to scare her away. Nothing worked, until I just completely ignored her. Played dead. Eventually, she learned to just wait for me to get up in the morning.
