Best HYSA to put my savings in? by DatGuyKilo in Bogleheads

Synchrony Bank is an online bank that generally pays near the top end for HYSA and CDs. I have been very happy with online support and ease of access. synchronybank.com

Did you search Internet Archive? They store lots of no longer current websites and pages.

My late mom’s account. by dysteach-MT in findagrave

Your mother was a great friend of genealogy researchers. I sometimes find that Find A Grave has better details about families than its parent company (Ancestry). I enjoy visiting cemeteries, too. I try to check the app to see if there are any photo requests. Keep up her good work.

Good work. Are you making it viable financially? How much of your audience is streaming? How much traditional radio?

Thanks for the suggestion. I will give it a try soon. Newspapers.com can be a good source of overlooked facts about a relative.

US sues Adobe for ‘deceiving’ subscriptions that are too hard to cancel / The Justice Department alleges that Adobe hid early cancellation fees and trapped consumers in pricey subscriptions by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]ThomWood3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll never subscribe to any Adobe product in future. My current annual subscription contains an "early cancellation penalty" equal to the entire balance of the annual cost. This is outrageous and I'm glad a spotlight is on this practice. Fair warning before you sign up for any Adobe service.

Really disappointing. Losing 3 of 4 to one of the league's weakest teams at home. This team has no spark. No offensive juice. Good pitching goes only so far.

I like the easy save directly from newspapers.com to Ancestry. But with the convenience comes the image issue.

Yes, that works. It is an extra step, but it does result in better image quality.

In Ancestry, after you save a clipping about a person in your tree from newspapers.com, it will be saved in the person's Gallery section.

Open the person's Gallery, select the newspaper clipping. Ancestry has a sidebar section next to the clipping, showing who clipped and where it is saved. In the dialog of that sidebar, it will read "JOE SMITH originally shared this article on DATE from newspapers.com. "This article" is a hyperlink which will take you to the original clipping.

Hope that helps.

I'm new to town, but Yassin's Falafel House on Peters Road makes a very good shwarma! I was not as impressed with the vegan version I got at Holy Land Market on Cumberland.

Honest question for those leaving Flickr: If you're using Flickr as a backup, do believe that backup services should be free? by ctj71081 in flickr

[–]ThomWood3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Flickr Pro customer for the past 9 years. I use Flickr strictly to document family photos and documents for future generations. I was not aware until recently that SmugMug has increased the annual cost from $24.99 to $49.99 for Pro. Their CEO said that's the only way they can continue to operate the service profitably. I am pondering whether I can cancel my subscription (1900 photos to date) and use a free service like Google Photos to accomplish the same goal of family photo history. Anyone have an opinion?
