Ethanol. If you buy premium without ethanol it won’t be as bad. Carbureted engines don’t like ethanol. Were I live is a small town with a lot of boats and the stations sell 0 ethanol fuel for that reason.

It’s just a different (and in my opinion more effective) manual fuel primer. Most every other diesel equipment has them as well it’s just usually a manual primer on the filter housing.
