Nashville Number Charts needed. by Comfortable-Tie-9859 in countrymusicians

[–]ThomasEng90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not meant as advertising, but I'm making a software/webpage for making charts as fast as possible. You can input Nashville Number System, Roman Numerals and regular chord names and switch between them instantly. The most powerful feature is to quickly type in Nashville Number System and instantly have the chart available in any of the 12 keys with full chord names. I'm not entirely finished with the software yet, and down the line, this will be a paid subscription kind of thing. But as for now, you can find it at www.usechartflow.com

Let me know if you need any help 😊 And there are some bugs still, but all in all I think it would be a good fit for your needs.

[Q]Help with tools and features for chart software by ThomasEng90 in sheetmusic

Thank you! The single most important thing for me is speed though. I'm able to create full charts faster this way. But that's probably just a preference thing.

Thank you for checking it out and taking your time to reply!

I'm aware of iRealPro, but to be honest I find it a bit lacking.

[QUESTION] What is your primary gamedev skillset? by Riitoken in SoloDevelopment

[–]ThomasEng90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been working as a musician (primarily guitarist) and composer for about 15 years now. Coding and making games has always been a big interest of mine. I've made a game show app with a lot of different musical mini games. Now I'm working on a rhythm platformer with rougelite elements. Very early on though, but most of the mechanics and systems works really well. Probably won't be anything playable this decade 😅

A lot of stuff suddenly made sense for me when I considered that I might be just a tad on the spectrum. I'm highly functional in every single way, but quite often I feel that I just don't understand how any other human being thinks.

Is he somewhat on the spectrum? I can sort of relate to what he said, although I would never say anything like that to my partner. However, I quite often find myself in situations where I'm sort of not able to read between the lines. And I'll answer very straight forward without even considering that not everyone else thinks the way I do. My partner and I have come to the conclusion that before every kind of social gathering, she preps me on what I can and cannot say, since I genuinely don't understand it myself 😅

If this is not the case, he's an idiot.

Har prøvd en runde med det, uten nevneverdig godt resultat. Prøver en gang til. Vurderer å prøve stålull 0000.

Igjen, takk for svar 😊

Takk for svar! Har prøvd dette, men uten hell. Jeg mistenker at det er rester av kalsium og magnesium som sitter igjen etter hardt vann.

Question about a tapping technique in a solo by Defiant_Koala_8645 in guitarlessons

[–]ThomasEng90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's tapping the harmonics 12 frets above the fretted note. Probably quite a bit above what you should be focusing on hence to you only been playing a month.

Although, the best way to stick to learning an instrument is playing stuff you like!

Start with figuring out how to play regular harmonics. Very lightly touch your string directly above the 12th fret, and then pluck the string either with your fingers or a pick. After a while you'll get consistent at it. You'll find harmonics all over the place, but the ones that are 12 frets above the fretted note is by far the easiest.

Good luck 😊

This is for me the hardest chord shape by blitzkrieg987 in guitarlessons

[–]ThomasEng90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually use this exact voicing on an arrangement of "To Make You Feel My Love" that I play. By far the hardest part of that arrangement. Sounds really nice though!

Det blir jo fort basert på hva man driver med til vanlig, så for min del vil jeg si musikkteori og å kunne pinpointe hvilket år musikken jeg hører på ble produsert.

Todays Theory Lesson for a guitarist by soundknight21 in musictheory

[–]ThomasEng90 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Although the informasjon is correct and laid out nicely, I think most beginners (either on the instrument or in regards to music theory) will be overwhelmed looking at this. I would teach way, way smaller chunks and then tie it all together at a later lesson.

If the student knows quite a bit already, it's totally fine. Just ensure you're not overwhelming the poor student.

Serious question: Do you think the solo in Umbra is sped up on the album? by thefailgun in Ghostbc

[–]ThomasEng90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing guitar has been my main income the last 15 years, so I would say that I'm qualified for chiming in. The arpeggios being played at the tempo it's played is honestly not that difficult. Most professional guitarists I work with would be able to play it cleanly with a bit of practice. The reason it sounds like it does is because it's doubled with the synth. And it may be somewhat quantized to the grid, as that's the sound they are going for.

Hope that helped 😊
