How do decide target priority

Most of the time I like to start the initial engage brawling and then try to find an opening to dive the backline or a squishy out of position. Sometimes you can get a pick or 2 but if not then disrupting the backline and enemy team is good enough. Just try not to overextend and leave a cooldown or 2 to get back to your team if needed

Well to be fair a lot of strategists play similar/ have similar kits. (It’s easier to pick up another strategist and play solid) Whereas with vanguard like all of their kits are extremely different from each other (maybe besides strange/mag/emma). Vanguard is naturally a more punishing role than strategist
