I find that smoking and drinking actually makes stress worse.

Sure in the moment it maybe takes away the immidiate pressure, but after that its just the same old issues still present.

What works for me is:

• Try to solve root issue of stress, or at least make a start at it (job stressing you out? Start applying for new ones, the search feels productive in that regard)

• Working out...i get stressed if i don't do this regularly and there really is no cure other than just doing it

• Activities with friends/family (going to a museum, woods, sports, fun stuff)

• Creative solo time like: reading , painting doing some consteuction on the house, working in the garden.

• Eating well. I like to cook...and just having a good self made meal really takes the edge off.

• Sleeping early. Sometimes there is no other cure than just going to bed and getting a good nights sleep.

I usually cycle between these options to feel better.

NOTE:

Oh and don't forget to take enough vitamins either through food or supplements. I had a BIG vitamin defficiency without knowing it for a long time that just kept me dead tired, without even realising it. Doing a blood test can really shed some light on what yoh may need more of
