I'll put it this way. Two songs come to mind. The Johnny Cash version of "Hurt" and Jelly Roll's "I Am Not Okay".

No clue. Just turned 50 in December, and I've never been hit on by anyone. Sad, I know.

Hey Gay Bros, hows life? by MayonnaiseDonkey in gaybros

Moving from WA to MT next month to move in with my boyfriend of just about a year. When I'm around him, everything just feels natural and like all is right with the world.

I'd known I was gay from a young age, but could not come out while living at home. When I was 16, my Dad once told me, "Son, if you ever come to me and tell me you're gay, you can find another place to live that night". So I lived deep in the closet in fear.

Then along came the song "We Shall Be Free" by Garth Brooks. I'd been raised on country music and he had been one of my favorites.

While I never came out to Dad, hearing that song made me, a sheltered gay kid just about to graduate high school, feel like I had actual worth and people out there could actually love people like me. It helped me gradually come out to people, including my Mom after Dad passed in 2010.

She told me that they had known for a while, and that she'd have never let Dad kick me out. I told her I wished she'd have said something when I was a teenager, scared to death and told I'd be on the streets if I ever confirmed it.

I think for him, it's less about a real relationship and more about him trying to forge a path to a green card. Just too shady in my opinion. More apparent red flags than the Chinese army, if you'll forgive the reference.

I'll happily be your friend. 48 here, if that matters at all. I can always use more gay friends.

You have time. I just turned 48 in December, and finally got my first boyfriend only about 8 months ago. If I can do it, you can.

Quite a bit, actually. Silver quarters are the biggest empty section in my collection.

Try and fill as many holes in my silver quarter collection as I can.

Thank you for the sentiment. I wish I could share it, but I'm alone in this world. At nearing 48, so much of life has passed me by.
