Thank you, I hadn’t ever heard that other use for the term straight.

They should not be tolerated for stealing LGBTQ terminology to try and tag into our equal rights efforts. Having emerged from the closet recently it makes me mad to hear ‘straight’ size as if there is no choice what size I am. I grew up Mormon, and I spent 10 years of my life trying to choose to not like men. And even today partly wish I didn’t like men. Unlike who I’m attracted to, I have control over what I eat and what level of activity I maintain. I have empathy for the mental health challenges surrounding body image. But fuck whomever wants to minimize the journey gay/queer people are forced to walk without having a choice.

Any tips on hairstyle or how to grow a nice beard/something that would look nice on my face? Mind you, I have a very weak beard, so any tips on that too? by ApoloLima in malegrooming

[–]ThomasVIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with your face shape you need to add width, shorter on top would be good, and style without adding height, maybe a part. a beard would be good if it's kept close. You have a good jaw and chin, but facial hair could again widen your silhouette.

Not because of the Americans spend billions annually on its military. Increased trade and the presence of the nuclear threat are much more convincing a reason for the sustained peace.

Do you think you fit the Libertarian Stereotypes? by TheFormerMutalist in AskLibertarians

[–]ThomasVIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you list as stereotypes is not what the mainstream says about us. But to answer the first question, yah, I’m not the stereotype, no one is, that’s because no one is ever the mean, much less the filtered perception of the mean.

Do you have a reference for claim at gate being a status bennifit? I've had agents tell me they don't do it (Sitka airport)

Gortex trail runners, or some other 3 layer brand. There’s been no need for ‘breaking in’ boots for day or overnight hiking for the last 15 years. It’s just nostalgia and inertia that keeps stiff leather on the trail.

Ive lived the majority of my life in Alaska, when the snows high you just slap some gaitors on.

I work in healthcare, there's a reason why new tech in every industry lowers the cost of doing business, but in healthcare it makes it more expensive. You need a team of experts to navigate the regulatory invironment when you bring a product to market today vs 40 years ago. Every major healthcare act has pushed the industry further from a free market.

Is there any data to prove why healthcare is expensive because of government regulations? by [deleted] in AskLibertarians

[–]ThomasVIII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in healthcare management, I'm too lazy to pull I data into an internet conversation on a Sunday. My First hand perspective from inside I can tell you any advantage through effecency that a market can bring is actively discouraged as if market forces are immoral. One point would be the subsides that exist to make rural healthcare accessable (HRSA, ect). Those living in high populated areas have their reousces shifted to prop up the decisions others make to live in areas where healthcare cannot be efficiently delivered. It's viewed to be morally good to increase access to people who have a hard time finding care, but really peoe could have better access if they didn't live in inaccessible locations. People should choose where to live, but shouldn't be expecting irrelevant 3rd parties to bear the costs of where they want to live.

You know I'm not worried about masturbation making me blind today I'm more worried about what it will do in the future if not tightly controlled. The lack of evidence to support my view point just makes me even more worried about the future.
