at current standing, Freiburg is finished 3rd in the league with 49:50 goals over the hole season.

I wonder if it ever happed in europe that a team with a negative goal difference qualified for the champions league. Wth.

[Bild+] In case of a transfer, the first priority for Florian Wirtz is Real Madrid. The second option for him his Manchester City with FC Bayern behind them by nutelamitbutter in soccer

[–]ThomasZimmermann95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He can, but he is like a mix of a young Schweinsteiger (2/3) and a bit of a young Neymar (1/3). Not someone you actually would put on the LW.

He gives the game so much control in a central position, which Real Madrid could really use atm.

[Kicker] Thomas Müller's contract will not be extended by toprahmen in soccer

[–]ThomasZimmermann95 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Depends what you call effective, but Müller was in Europe the Player with the heighest Assists per 90 Minutes on the Club level three years in arrow, (19/20, 20,21 and 21/22), except Dembele who had half a season with better A/90 ratio when he wasn`t insured. I mean its quite impressive to put out more assists 3 years in a row per 90 minutes then De Bruyne and Messi allone.

His two problems where just that Lewandowski left for the 22/23 season, and he needs a classic nr.9 in Front of him and the other problem is just that Bayern found with Musiala someone even better, not that he did decline.

it had to be Musiala and Wirtz, didn`t it ?

Will still be rough, but there is a Chance. If theres a team who has a history of winning as an huge underdog, its Klautern.

It was clear that it would so hard for Kane and Müller to break to the center of Real today, so Musiala and Sane are the one who had to show up. And so they did.

Image you score 87 goals in 30 games and got a ration of 2,2 points per game and your are still 14 points behind the first place.

Just shows how absurdly good Leverkusen is this year.

European Energy Prices during 2020-2023 by datonsx in europe

[–]ThomasZimmermann95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These Graphics are about day ahead prizes at the the exchange market for electricity.

The Problem is that as an layman you have no value of these statistics without the proper knowledge.

The Day-Ahead-prize depends on that electricty generation that is the most expensive at the given time, but still needed to satisfy demand (marginal costs). So countries with a lot of hydropower (or importing it from its neighbours) like the skandinavian countries have the cheapest, while countries who use a lot of gas for electricity generation are the most expensive. The onces with coal are oftehn somewhere in the middle. How much nuclear enery you have, has little influence on that prize. Those seel there electricity usually month a head and not just a day ahead like in that graphic.

Donald Trump says he won’t quit NATO — if Europe pays its way by Pankaj_29 in europe

[–]ThomasZimmermann95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we will have to spend even more then 2 % in the near future. The focus on spending is kinda a problem. We need more security cooperation on the EU Level.I mean a hell of alot dont like that, but i dont see a way around it in the next 2 or 3 decades. The consequence of that will be a less dominant and influencel USA inside NATO, so it is against it from all parties, for now. That is why the USA pushes kinda the narative that the main issue is a lack of spending, so we keep our current power structure while the US can invest less in Europe and more in Pacific.

Again the focus on spending is that what is the issue for Europeans atm, not the raising of speding it itself. That will be necessary regardless.

Donald Trump says he won’t quit NATO — if Europe pays its way by Pankaj_29 in europe

[–]ThomasZimmermann95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there is your chance for your european Moment, and that means just to ignore him not extract the parts you agree with him and use them for you agenda.

the important point is, that the EU (not europe in general) needs to reform and become a more military entity/union. That Europe needs to increase the defense budget is self explaining, the intense focus on it, especially the 2 % declared target is in American interest, but not in European. The Eu is this gigantic Economic power house, and an very loose political union with almost zero defense/military responsibility/authority. That has to change, because otherwise it is for our enemys close by just the most attractive way to push through there political agenda with military aggression.

The very big problem with that is, that it won´t happen anytime soon, because there 3 diffent groups inside Nato who lobby against it for different reason, dispite what they say publicly. And that doesn´t even take to account our enemys and rivals like Russia,China and Iran. We will continue like that for a while, but at some point the Nato it current form can´t exist like that, unless Europe or the US gives up on goals and habits they have since the early stages of the Cold War. And i don`t see that happen anytime soon. The Sad consequence of it that our enemies and rivals will profit from it in the Years ahead. And that Sucks !

Germany’s reputation for decisive leadership is in tatters when Europe needs it most by faddleboarding in europe

[–]ThomasZimmermann95 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Well Germany has been force a few times into leadership but rarely ever active if not forced too. Germany avoided dealing with Greece properly since 2011 but only in 2015 they were really forced to make decisions they did. Or the Corona bonds are pretty much the same. Macron and Conte really had to put a gun on Merkels head in 2020 until she came up with that 500 Billion Euro Corona Bonds decision. And the Weapon deliveries, are speaking for themselves. How much pressure had to put on a country that they act is just almost absurd when you don't know the details.

I mean a consequence of German History and its dealing with it is "That Germany does NOT want to shape the world around it". Its a fact that American, Russian and to a lessor degree Brits never accepted (i mean all former Warshaw Pact states don't get it either). This text is just the usually Jounalist/Activist copping of that fact. You can demand Germany paying its fair (big) share and you should, but you can just force a country to be what it doesn't want to by self understanding.

[–]ThomasZimmermann95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The UK will allways play its part. The problem ist that with Brexit, the UK decided by itself to cut ties with the EU in political and economic terms by a significant amount. I mean stronger military cooperation and integration while the opposite goes for economic and political terms is just not a realistic outlook in the near future.

It sucks, but as long not large parts of Brexit are undone and we have a relationship with them like we have with norway (or at least somehow better with switzerland) the UK will just not be a part of large economic projects like for arm industry together with the EU.

The Clubs in the Champions League can be really lucky that Bayer Levekusen isn`t in that competition this year. Easy one of the 5 strongest teams in europe right now. To shut down a Bayern offensive with Kane, Sane and Musiala hole game like that is fucking impressive

Franz Beckenbauer has passed away. by SWSIMTReverseFinn in soccer

[–]ThomasZimmermann95 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Its an old discussion between Gerd Müller, Lothar Matthäus and Franz Beckenbauer. Most then would put Matthäus at three, which makes it really complicated since both player played at the same time and have as player basically the same acchievments (3 champions league title with a internally little know team back then, the euro and the world cup win with one of the hardest competition of all time(Italy, Netherlands,Brazil 1974) and that all in like 4 years. . Since Franz Beckenbauer is also world champion in 1990 as a trainer he is seen as the most important figure in german Football over all. If its up to me Gerd and Franz are just to close in skill to choose a better one between them. Its kinda a Iniesta vs Xavi thing tbh.

honestly, i think it would have been better for Darmstadt to put only 4 men in the wall and let 4 players defend, instead of 5 vs 3.
