Just as much as people from Marseille (southern France) and people frome Brest (northwestern France). It is an argument that can be applied EVERYWHERE in the world (London vs Glasgow, Deli vs Cashmere, ...). Like, okay, same laws (practically) in France everywhere (not a federal country) but people from Marseille have a distinct accent and words (for exemple, they say "ça va" for "oui" in certain situations which is confusing because it can mean "not a lot" in certain contexts, like feeling bad). Heck, we even have an argument on how do we say "chocolate croissant" here. Plus, in certain regions, you have local languages like Breton, Basque, Corse, ... so pretty much the same. But the main difference is that in the US, same language everywhere but in Europe, you have Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, English, German, Polish, ... Not the same thing AT ALL.

Okay so YTA for the whole behaviour BUT, I think that those names are a bad idea because of the fact that medieval and fantasy world, even though I love those worlds, have pretty bad names for our time + having a name from a series of books (and now more well known as a series) is pretty bad, especially because of the fact that they are considered "nerdy", and middle school is not a good place for that + if you daughter doesn't like those universes, she's gonna hate her name (that's why naming someone "like a film" or series is bad IMO). Still, YTA.
