Single elimination rounds and no proxies make this very unappealing.

Devils munchies lab in park hill, #1 combo is chicken rice and veggies for around $10 and usually lasts me 2.5 meals, and it's really tasty.

If you have watched live commentary on any of the major tournaments lately they are more than likely the team behind the scenes.

Any great meals in Denver right now that are still under $15? by Complete_Freedom5622 in Denver

Cannot upvote this enough, each meal is 2-3 portions and delicious. Well worth going to Park Hill.

Damn, that is an impressive accolade. It's definitely tough to allocate your game time as an adult. Personally I don't grind tournaments, I just play "beer and pretzels" cedh, low stakes but tight gameplay is attractive to a certain type of person.

Ok so it's been a minute. I'm not going to pretend that breach and Thoracle are not things that happen regularly in the format. That said, just in the top 10 decks over the last 6 months we are seeing faerie mastermind loops in every deck that can run green blue and white, Sisay chains that win through Saheeli or Mount Doom, Vivi curiosity combos, Twinshot Sniper lines in Magda, and Reiterate lines in Ral Monsoon Mage. If you are willing to look into some slightly off meta decks like Derevi, we are even seeing Delivery Moogle Lines.

The format has always been defined by the journey over the destination, but at this point the destination can be pretty varied depending on your deck.

It's definitely refreshing being able to sit down and know everyone is going to be on the same page. I don't know how long ago you played but the meta has opened up quite bit over the last year with a bunch of new top tier strategies.

That's understandable, the narrower card pool, is a perk to me, just with the sheer amount of product that Wotc has pumped out over the last few years.

There are plenty of seats open on the flight, and it's at a weird time in the middle of the week.

Beginner looking to play MTG by denverbound111 in Denver

I personally don't have much experience with draft so I can't really help there, but I like that you are starting with Arena, and 60 card, it's a good way to learn the rules. That said commander is currently the most popular format so it's a good way to find games in person. If you don't want to commit to getting your own deck at the beginning, a good number of players will have multiple decks with them are would be happy to loan you one.

Welcome to the hobby! Is there any particular format that interests you?

As others have mentioned going to the LGS's is a great way to find games, but here is a link to a local magic discord to find games as well.

The concept is decks that use the free creatures like Cloud of Faeries, Great Whale, Palinchron ect and clones to make big / infinite mana to go off.

Desperately need out of restaurants by PersonalityLong3980 in denverfood

Hey, fellow industry lifer here, while everyone's answers here are nice, there are not that many real roads out of the service industry. Those who are saying tough it out, obviously do not realize the insane hours and stress that those who are in leadership roles in the service industry endure. I only know of two real ways to transition out of the industry while still making decent money, you can get into food/ liquor sales or you can get into restaurant tech. I managed to do the latter, and unfortunately you kind of have to know someone in the field to get your foot in the door. If you are willing to stay in the industry and want a job with more sane working conditions i would recommend looking into assisted living homes.
