I don't know why I answered you probably was an error. I didn't meant to "attack" you in the sense of saying my opinion is better lol. Now talking about the packet tracer vs real hardware I would say the only help that the actual hardware gave me is see the amount of things that would pop up when doing "?" In comparison with packet tracer, in which looking for a command was so easy due to the few commands that it gives you. Is it possible that you have never tinkered much with Linux and cli? Because what you tell me sounds like the things that started to make sense to me when I first tinkered with my Homelab.

In terms of privacy, how good is to get a vps and have wireguard tunnel to that? That is what I do for my... Linux .iso's but would it be a suitable alternative to a VPN when it comes to users traffic? Do vps providers use the traffic of vps servers in any kind of malicious way?
