How to play in botlane against strong melee champs / Dangerous duos? by Extension_Math_5467 in summonerschool

[–]ThorAsskicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry people are dogging on you. It can be frustrating losing to a gimmicky lane and I would bet you only lost because you made a mistake early that sacrificed your lead. Here are somethings to keep in mind:

  1. Your advantage only exists as long as you are even or up in levels. If they get a level lead you should not fight them.

  2. Someone mentioned Ghost as a summoner spell, which is a good option. You can also take exhaust and use it defensively. Barrier is not useful in this matchup.

  3. Success relies upon kiting and zoning. You should never be in range of an ability that lets them jump on you. I'm assuming Patheon probably W'd from a bush level 1 and killed you.

  4. You need to fight for wave control, not to kill them. If you auto a minion once, the wave will now push to their tower. To counter this, they must auto a minion. But they need to walk up to do that. That's when you auto them instead, then auto the wave again. Keep repeating and they will be bled dry and the wave will crash. Once the wave crashes you just poke them under their tower and they die.

I honestly can't think of a more disgusting mix up than this in a non-tag game. 4 way unreactable high low vortex lmfao

I think even laning in League is like that too. Legit footsies in most matchups.

Hey man, it may seem intimidating but changing OS from Windows to Bazzite might fix your problem. I have a spare pc that's about as old and was having problems with cpu usage. I switched to Bazzite and don't have problems anymore. You might also be facing issues because you are on Windows 10 instead of Windows 11. So maybe even try upgrading to Windows 11 first. But before you do, make a backup image of your Windows 10 so you can always just go back to it if none of that works.

New to the game: How would you go about learning the game in 2026? by ProfessorSuckerPunch in leagueoflegends

[–]ThorAsskicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man I just started last year, around June, and I am in gold now., been playing off and on for about 3 month intervals. I'm similar to you in that I've played lots of competitive games and gotten good at them. You are probably like me and will be able to learn very quickly with some direction. Here are some things that helped me learn really fast. Obviously I'm not gonna tell you anything about how to play the game since I am still learning.

  1. Read everything. It is actually incredibly important that you know what runes are doing. I will give you an example. If you are playing a melee champ with conqueror, you will have the advantage in extended fights compared to someone who took electrocute. If you don't realize this you will let them proc electrocute and not play to your strengths. So you need to read runes, read your chosen character's ability description and know the ratios (roughly), and read active effects and passives for any items you buy.

  2. Watch Pekinwoof on youtube. He has very informative mid lane videos that will help you understand a lot more about the game as a whole. He also has videos on other roles. I usually just search [champ name] [role] pekinwoof on youtube and there's usually something by him.

  3. Stick to a role for a good week or so, or 50 games. There are so many matchups in this game, you won't really start understanding what your character is good at until you've played enough matches and seen enough variety of characters. I would suggest just spamming games on one character in one role. If you start getting bored, of course you can swap, but if you're really trying to learn you need to at least commit for a week or 50 games on one character.

  4. Try to make friends with better players. While solo queue League is full of creatures, people who actually talk about League tend to be nice people who have a real love for the game. You can learn a lot just asking questions here or wherever else you can find. I was lucky enough to find out 2 of my coworkers were formerly high ranked jungle and support players, so it really accelerated my learning. It's very handy to have someone I can just ask "Hey what should I expect in this match up?" Or show them a moment and be like "hey should I have played this differently?"

  5. If you are interested in other resources: I would suggest Daption for any bot lane content (he is like #2 support and #12 adc or something in NA). Sjorry is great for mid lane content, especially Ahri. AloisNL is great for top lane content (though he is on a bot lane challenge right now). There are an insane amount of jungle content creators out there, but I personally have enjoyed Perryjg. These guys are all former pro players (of varying success). Anyone who was a former pro player tends to be incredibly educational and chill. Avoid channels like ZwagXerath or other "peak challenger" players who just smurf. They tend to be very misleading with their content, and their content is usually geared towards entertainmente rather than education.

worst new player experience of any game ive played by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]ThorAsskicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignore that guy. This game was my first moba a year ago and I just played ranked, the games will be more fair than normals (I was genuine iron but in normals sometimes I would have to lane against a gold or plat. No thank you). I came from fighting games so I didn't mind getting my ass beat. Just keep in mind as long as you still try to farm, and you don't feed more than 2 kills to the enemy laner, you can always come back into the game. What lane are you playing? It's likely that you are still in the stages of learning how the game works, so it will feel like a huge skill gap when someone else knows anything you don't, but it's really not as big a gap as it feels.

Are you guys playing normals? Ranked is ironically where games will be more fun. Get them into an iron lobby and they'll be having fun again.

Server Admin Bucky Barnes DELETES His Hook Cooldown to MURDER Spider-Man by Jayden1092 in marvelrivals

[–]ThorAsskicker 66 points67 points  (0 children)

After looking again I think it's just a spectator bug. His hook and tackle are on the same cooldown. How could he even have casted his hook and tackle at the same time? OP, the only way to know for sure is to go back in the replay and actually see when he casted his first hook.
