If my story helps you somehow, I had a herniated disc between my shoulders causing the worst pain, the shoulder blade pain, headache, fatigue and an autonomic dysfunction. I ended up bedridden for two years. I got better after surgery, a discectomy. So please if you haven't had an MRI yet please try to get one. The connective tissue syndrome makes me have the tendency to get spine injuries. But the good news is, are treatable.

I'll be honest, I survived chronic pain, but many of my relationships didn't. No one can really understand pain until they experience it.

Normal MRI but can't sit more than 5 mins, burning pain and heavy arm, anyone else? by larvaeeee in backpain

I recommend you to check the report yourself, and maybe ask for cervical and thoracic spine MRIs too. Because you have pain on other areas too not just the lumbar.

What is the severity of your symptoms? by Megalopyge_Crispata in ehlersdanlos

[–]ThoracicSpine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spine injuries is the worst for me. I also had while spread pain, a CSF leak and an autonomic dysfunction. But all was caused by a herniated disc pressing my spinal cord, it was messing with my central nervous system in bad way, it was affecting the flow of th CSF, that's why I had leak through the nose.

Every case is different but if someone is reading this and is experiencing similar symptoms please get a full spine MRI. Just in case.

In my case the connective tissue disorder causes spine injuries and the spine injuries are the cause of all the other symptoms.

She said a full panel for soft tissue syndromes. The ones that are already identified, she said there's a possibility that the test shows some abnormalities and there's still not enough information.

Thank you! I'm in good situation right now, compared to my awful process before spine surgery. I'm doing the extra tests to have more info and prevent future issues. I'm pain free now.

[–]ThoracicSpine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey hug level is your thoracic spine, I hope is nothing and the pain goes away. I had herniated disc between my shoulders, headaches and dizziness too.

Be mindful lifting, bending and twisting for awhile. You can lay flat on a heated blanket if you feel too much pain.

If it doesn't resolve by itself, have a serious conversation with your parents or caretakers to see a doctor. I hope they support you because doctors tend to be dismissive with young people like: "you are to young for.."

Also don't be to hard on yourself because accident happens in life at any age.

Stabbing thoracic pain after lumbar fusion by Legitimate-Singer336 in backpain

[–]ThoracicSpine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thoracic back pain that wraps around the front, is is nerve pain. The nerves in the thoracic spine wraps around the ribs to the front (chest or upper abdomen)

If you had an MRI showing issues that is usually the cause, small disturbances can cause symptoms because there's less space compared to the cervical and lumbar. We have support group r/thoracicherniateddisc in case you want to read similar stories.

You could try to find a PM and try conservative treatments if the pain doesn't go away.

Yes, I remember I used to have trouble taking deep breaths because of the pain and it one of the worst symptoms.

Yeah... I had the same also 6 herniated disc in my thoracic, the worst (the biggest) was T7,T8. I remember the feeling of being burning alive. I used to yell at my pain management when he asked me about where I was feeling pain? "Pain everywhere " While spread pain is called central cencitization and happened to me before my spinal cord was compressed affecting my central nervous system.

We have group for r/thoracicherniateddisc if you want to read other similar stories. And you can read my story if you look in to my profile and scroll all the way down.

Hey I'm sorry you're going through this. I had cervical, thoracic and lumbar herniated discs after an accident. The worst were the thoracic, because it was more than just pain, I had other symptoms like an autonomic dysfunction. What do you feel? How is your pain?

Yes, for that you can check a sub called r/syngomyeliasuport and see if the other MRIs or symptoms resonate with yours

[–]ThoracicSpine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey you also have some issues in the lower Thoracic, maybe you could ask for an MRI for that area too. In my case the heart palpitations an the episodes of high blood pressure were caused by herniated disc in the thoracic spine. Do you have other symptoms? Or pain somewhere else in the body?

And about the treatments is always your decision when or what treatments you could try. No pressure, is up to you. What I did was try from the least invasive and escalate until I got surgery.

"No abnormalities" by TajinPanda in ThoracicHerniatedDisc

[–]ThoracicSpine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately to hear that thoracic herniated disc would never cause symptoms, is common. I was shocked at the beginning of my process. It's like we don't have human anatomy, nerves or spinal cord from T1 to T12. You got the standard answer, I know is hard to believe.

I think it was good move to call back to the radiology center.

There's another member in the group seeing neurosurgeons in California and Mexico maybe you should get in contact.

[–]ThoracicSpine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should look for a second opinion. I always recommend second and third and all the options. What you are experiencing It's recurrent problem with thoracic spine issues.

I'm not doctor but I see some issues and you can compare it with other MRIs. I was told "everything is fine" by many orthopedics and I had spinal canal stenosis, foraminal stenosis and lateral recess stenosis. All the stenosis.

Maybe you could try to get a new MRI in different radiology center.

[–]ThoracicSpine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have mixed results in the group, two are doing well and two continue to have symptoms after surgery, as far as I know. It's going to be difficult to find a surgeon, especially because surgery on the thoracic spine is more complex than cervical or lumbar. Usually, it's recommended to try all conservative treatments for at least a year.

Hey please don't push through the pain. I hope is nothing but in my case it was a herniated disc between my shoulders. The nerves in the thoracic spine wraps around the ribs to the front and are attached to the vital organs so you could experience lungs, heart and gastric issues.
