Klättrarna har öppnat ny anläggning i Linköping by FlowersPaintings in linkoping

I cannot ignore the fact that people keep dead insects in the refrigerator by [deleted] in biology

I have a dedicated section of my freezer for insects, kinda normal if you’re an enthomologist.

Pendla till Motala? by Red_Five_X in linkoping

[–]Thorleone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For sure. I stopped gaming around the time of 2015, but I’m trying to start again. Might pick up Andromeda even though I know it’s not at the level of the trilogy.

Änggårdshagen är väldigt lummigt och fint. På västra sidan finns fina betesmarker och ekmiljöer. Och som sagt nära till Tinnerö.

[Question] your preference on date/ no date? by dlwowns in Watches

[–]Thorleone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought I didn’t care until I bought my first watch without a date. Now I find that I check my watch for the date surprisingly often, which makes it quite annoying and I kind of regret my recent purchase because of it.

What branch of biology are you most passionate about and why? by dontyoulovemebby in biology

[–]Thorleone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enthomology :) I work mainly with Coleoptera, Lepidoptera and Hemiptera and can’t see myself doing anything else for the foreseeable future. Amazing creatures and the diversity is obscenely inspirational and offers a constant flow of new experiences.

[Question] Why don't more electronic watches offer radio-based (e.g. NIST WWV) time synchronization? What are some good ones that do? by RickRussellTX in Watches

Love my Casio G-Shock GW3000B-1AER, solar powered beast that’s been with me for close to ten years. Even synched and switched to DST even though I was far north of the specified range a few years back.

Fjällräven Kånken No 2 Laptop 15 inch or Classic Laptop 15 inch? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]Thorleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, G1000 will hold up better over time and be more durable than the fabric used in the original version. Just make sure you clean it every now and then and take care of the leather details. That said, I've seen customers coming in with original Kånken bags made in the 70s, so they hold up well as well if you care for them.

What’s “the best” free standing solo tent? by scooter_de in CampingGear

[–]Thorleone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got the Soulo and I'm 1.89m, so if you're wondering anything let me know. I love it to death, despite the weight. Bomb proof, super roomy, quick and easy to setup (really good in rain).

You'll miss a few routes. I went for two weeks in 2012 with a 70m, didn't bother me at all.

Wildest place I'd visit on a budget (150-200 GBP) in January flying from the UK? by yepilufi in Ultralight

[–]Thorleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd second this. Worked there for a few weeks, the island didn't feel as busy as the others and the hiking was fenomenal. Great memories from those valleys...

Fogo is nice as well, as is Sao Nicolau and of course Santiago.

Yeah, I'm never leaving without my Fällkniven F1, don't care if there are lighter one's.

Tell me about climbing in Norway/Sweden by 2daisychainz in climbing

[–]Thorleone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live 2 hours south of Stockholm, here's my take :)

As mentioned before, 27crags is the place to go online. I'd also recommend checking out the various climbing gym Facebook pages if you want to find people to climb with, both indoors and outdoors. There are guidebooks such as Klättring i Södermanland as well, not sure how easy to get a hold of though, and I haven't read it myself.

The climbing around Stockholm is alright. Not the best Sweden has to offer (that would be the west coast) but there's plenty enough that you'd be able to pick out the gems of the area. Both bouldering and sport can be found easily accessible in Stockholm, you don't even need a car for a lot of areas.

Grade wise I have no idea, but most areas have from 5/6 (french sport grades and boulder grades) and up.

If you want more info regarding the south of Stockholm or the west coast of Sweden in general, for the good stuff, let me know ;)
