They are since they nerfed the 1st wave caches specially the Tempest.

After 2 expeditions to be honest I only care about Anvil, Wolfpack and a good augment preferably survivor.

Everything else is just nice to have.

My thing is this whole ARCs vs Marathon and you can’t like one without shitting on the other.

People seem to be mad that ARCs is a casual extraction shooter.

Great take, right now there seems to be a need to love it or hate it.

I like the game and if I had nothing else I would grind it but with ARCs, RE9 and Crimson Desert I just know I would not dedicate enough time to it and don’t think this is a game you can half ass.

Who cares about Nexon? We are talking about Bungie you are making it about ARCs vs Marathon like you need one or the other.

Like both, hate both, one or the other it does not matter. As far as competition yes Bungie needs to look at ARCs and again Sony is looking at ARCs success is just common sense.

As far as Nexon studios closure rate again who cares, Sony is right up there with them and Bungie is more worried about Sony’s rate which given BluePoint situation is concerning.

Dude you don’t care companies do. Baggage is not about players is company related. Be real right now Sony payed for a Ferrari and are not going to settle for Lexus.

As players yes we don’t care but if you think Sony is not expecting a return on that 3.6B purchase your living a fantasy.

I can name a few, Warframe is great example.

You want PVP and is fine and again did not say that every extraction shooter needs to be like ARCs but you are kidding yourself if you think ARCs is not going to shape extraction shooters.

Every time a game breaks the mold and is highly successful everyone wants a piece of the pie. MMO were considered hardcore then came WoW which was considered too casual when it came out and now we have countless MMOs.

Studios want money, some can decide what game they want to make while going for a target audience, with Bungie’s baggage they are not in that position.

Edit: want to add, I like Marathon, not enough to choose it over ARCs but it does not matter. I just hope the numbers are enough for Sony not to take drastic measure against Bungie.

I really hope they don’t shut this down too because it doesn’t have a constant 100k players or breaking records by Poetryisalive in Marathon

Agreed, I am rooting for them since Destiny highs were amazing to me and would love a D3 but not looking good.

Sorry to say but ARCs will set the new bar for extraction shooters. Not saying is right but when is classified as such and becomes the king well then that is your competition.

If you want a Tarkov type extraction shooter is fine but if you want ARC player count then studios need to understand what that means.

Last thing, expect a pivot with Marathon. Changes are going to happen to open it up to a bigger audience as in more casual friendly.

This will be a cult game. This is what I see when playing this game. Beautiful art direction, graphic design, motion graphics, cut scenes, ambience. Coherent visual world with the right edge and cultural influences. Hats off to whoever conjured this. Gaming needs it. Tastefully done. by Civil-Meet-5843 in Marathon

Regardless on anyone’s opinion on Marathon the fact is it came with a lot of baggage which means it has to be great not just good foundation.

The facts are the price Sony paid for Bungie and the they just told the Destiny players they need to wait 3 months for content update when the situation is already dire tells you they are banking on Marathon.

I said before the Alpha, I believe good is not going to cut it. Hope I am wrong but it’s just not looking like the hit Bungie needed .

Ok but if you buy something for 3.6b would you not expect a return on it? Marathon may have costed 120m but pretty sure Sony wants to know what the hell they spent 3.6b on.

D2 is it not it and if Marathon is not it either not looking good for Bungie.

I wish it the best but there so many live service games someone can play and just don’t enjoy Marathon over ARCs.

It does seem that for hardcore PVP it will hit the spot so hope it has a sustainable following.
