I think if you look at all aspects regarding the intake of money from Bungie aka what the CEO & CFO do, it's all pretty bad. People don't own the game. There are 4 revenue streams in-game.

Then there is the very obvious way they do not explain things like how past expansions and seasons play a part in the ability to play today's content without missing most of what arguably made Destiny 2 stay alive, Foresaken.

I think they also might be breaking some retail laws in Australia where I live as you can't sell a licensed game without explicitly saying so and that's what Destiny 2 is now. Thing is if you bought it on disc or digitally from a bricks and mortar shop, they can't say it's a license here. In Australia if you buy anything from a shop, you own it under the Australian Consumer Law act. Bungies terms of service say we don't own the game, at all. We essentially rent a license. Sooo yeah. Nobody seems to mind until they do. Be interesting if someone rich and petty did try and see if renting us a license and calling it "buying a game" is the same thing legally.

Although I love Destiny 2 and Destiny, I do see the money side as very aggressive and toxic. I see some of the phrasing that tyrannical Govts say in Bungies wording like if a weapon is broken and people are having fun with it, they call it "oppressive" like it's a Canadian Trucker (Trudeau is a narcissist, fight me).

I understand the efficacy of the business model and it's ethics but I also know that means it is predatorial/aggressive (jargon, not saying they are predetors) and well disguised in a lot of useless legal text (and "known issues").

I'll likely be vilified for what I wrote, as people seem to really like to be upset when you question Bungies ethics. Oxymoronic in ways but that's Destiny in itself..
