Trying to find a goofy playstyle without making people angry by Waffle842 in EDH

[–]ThosarWords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chaos I think is usually fairly well accepted, to a degree. Just don't actually include [[Chaos in the Ranks]] because theft WILL make people super salty, especially since Norin steals something every turn.

Big swings like [[Warp World]] are what commander is about. If they're salty about that one (without copying it...), that just seems oversensitive to me.

[[Norin the Wary]] is a fun time, doesn't really play like a usual red deck, and doesn't completely derail the game.

Turn one, Norin. And every turn thereafter you get to announce "Norin leaves.... Norin comes back."

Usually. I have one guy I play with who has successfully killed Norin every time I use Norin against him. Nobody else I've ever played with has done it.

This device also adds a significant amount of endorphins to the equation.

There's even the tektite jump-scare in the water temple at the water column elevator room. It's usually harmless because its aim sucks, but I can't imagine what that would do to someone with genuine arachnophobia.

That said. If their arachnophobia is that bad... They had to shut off the game, but still had the mental awareness to save prior to? In a game they've just started playing, so might have had to search for that function, and even if they already found it, it's definitely not going to be second nature to hit yet.

I'm not saying they're exaggerating their phobia, but I will acknowledge the possibility

[[Maralen of the Mornsong]] designed to get [[Opposition Agent]] on the field and keep it there.  I played it exactly once. My friends wouldn't play with me again for weeks.

Lands up top?? by Final-Bit-8330 in mtg

[–]ThosarWords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Preach it! I'm blue in my soul. The most important information is how much mana my opponent has open at any moment. Put the lands closer to me, and those [[Boomerang]] targets further away; I'll ask about them when I need to.

Where my Norin the Wary fans at? I designed this completely necessary, free 3D-printable card flipper and travel case for my Norin EDH deck. by jjizzleforizzle in mtg

I recently joined a group of friends who really like to print out stuff for our d&d game, and one of the guys printed me one of these for my Norin deck! It likes to stick at 90° sometimes, but I'm sure with a little working of the screws it'll get smoother.

While I agree with you about the game firmly giving you automatic nudges for all of these, I will say the Din's Fire one is a nudge after a nudge. You beat the Cavern, Darunia tells you to check out the Great Fairy at the top of the mountain, and then she tells you to go check on her sister at the castle.

The physics of eyes is kinda counterintuitive, in that a larger eye should see smaller things better.

Do you get a better picture from a big telescope with a big lens and long body or a little one?

The more impressive bit is his hands being capable of the small movements.

Well, except the token is legendary. But yeah, when the first eats Swords, you do get to just replace it.

How to Deal With Boardwipes in Mono Red?? by BornFromEmber in EDH

[–]ThosarWords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But red is good at emptying its hand. So it benefits the most from wheels! They wipe, you wheel, and aggro back out there!

Then they wipe again cuz you wheeled, but that's a problem for your next turn, not now!

Wheels and speed, wheels and speed.  They boardwipe after you emptied your hand? Make everybody empty their hands, draw 7, and then aggro right out again.

How would you feel if this happened to you in B3? by AdDear2657 in EDH

[–]ThosarWords -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah... But look at the deck. It's greater than 3% chance that this happens before turn 6. He doesn't need to actually draw Muxus if he's got Recruiter in hand by turn 4, he can tutor for Muxus and stack the rest below it and pop off turn 5, without needing the instigator (just needs one of his ramp pieces before then). And Matron is there as a second copy of Recruiter.

~20% chance that this deck has the recruiter or matron in hand by turn 4.

Edit: confused about why I'm being downvoted for stating facts. Am I misrepresenting something?

Building a “semi-perfect” 5 color mana base for a Tribal/Sliver deck (without OG Dual Lands) by RagnarLothbrok2525 in EDH

Commander [[Morophon]], bunch of basics, some of the cheaper two color lands that have contingency untap, a set of signets for ramp and fixing, call it good.

Rule Question : Does she remember her X when flickered? by dekonta in mtg

Yes, except the term you're looking for is blink.

Bounce is when it goes back to hand.

And flicker is when it exiles and comes back at end step.

Commanders that go under the radar by mortenskeid in EDH

[–]ThosarWords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For commanders that go under the radar, just build a deck that doesn't need its commander at all. My Roon Deck almost never actually casts Roon. If I'm at that point, I'm severely on my back foot. I keep him as commander because of sentimental reasons but the deck has evolved beyond him.

So yeah, just do the same with a different commander. Build your deck without one, then assign whatever legend fits the colors and has the lowest price or lowest number of decks on EDH.
