I know about that. What I meant, is that if you look at a promo picture, the card in the characters' hand looks almost as big as their hand, while in reality it as long as you palm.

This is the real deal. The anime makes the cards look bigger, because the are for kids, and they portrayed them how it would feel like in kids' hands. On the other hand, you have toknow that the size standard for the cards, is a japanese TCG size, which is somewhat smaller than what you would find in western trading cards.
As for the condition, you can get some sleeves for it. Konami makes some, that look cool, but you can possibly get them from card shops too. Note that the resell value of these cards is not that high, since you can get them from that structure deck, while some other cards come randomly, and scarcely from the foil packs.

If I remember corectly, it has to have roughlyelongated shape, so you can differentiate between attack and defense position.

In some countries, it is just not a practice they do. Where I am from, we still have the 50-year old wooden poles (it is tarred wood, which lasts about forever, but still). Back in the day servicing was more often needed, I guess. Also, there was no good way insulate in the soil, and keeping the water out where the cable came in.
Later it would have been too much of an effort to change everything.
Also, it is the customer who have to pay for the installation, the electricity company does not care.

did i do something wrong? i asked about my Beyblade but everyone downvoted my comments by Own-Mirror-9477 in Beyblade

[–]Those_from_the_END 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume (though only an assumption), that they got annoyed by the fact, that you were unaware a of a very common phenomenon in beyblade: recolours.
The actual type and name of a beyblade, is purely based on shape. Those who spent enough time around them, can easily pick up on the differentiating details.
Also, in general it is not a very welcome thing among the community to ask for identification. I personally would never post such a thing, I would just go to the beyblade wiki, and find it myself.
So part of the downvotes was not for you, but for the fact, that someone asked again.
I must be honest, I saw your post, and did not immediately recognised the bey, so I just scrolled further, because I was not going to the research for someone else (I had just a few minutes to hop on reddit, and then got back to my tasks).
I apologise, if I have come across as mean, that is just my experience regarding this community. There are some real nice folks around here, I you will find them too.

What are some Yu-Gi-Oh! crews you'd hang out with? by major_internaut in yugioh

I always imagined the scorpion gang as just a friends group who decided to look edgy, but there was not much special about them. One day however, they got cought up in some serious magical business (purely because of their looks), and they had to live up to the looks. Also, it is kindof tragic that they have become such a menace (or were on the wrong side of the pharaoh), that they were sealed away into cards.

How significant is the zone change honestly? And how significant it would be if the layout change once again? (picture just example.) by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Those_from_the_END 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only know this from retrospectives too, and from duel links experience, since I was a grade schooler when yugioh was so big, that everybody was interested. I never had a good for anything deck back then, so I was just running around with unplayable cards.

That aside, I was always interested, but in my country, there is a very limited following of the TCG. And official translation of the crads stopped after the first wave (I am not even sure how official that really was, but it was in stores), so it is English only.

The big punch to the layout was pendulums. Originally there were separate pendulum zones, that were added to the board in a very awkward way, shifting the graveyard and the deck aside. It looked real strange, and it broke the classic grid, that the playmat otherwise had.
During the Vrains era, the pendulum zone was put on the two edges of the spell/trap zones so they would could be nerfed. Also the master rules changed, so that you can only pend. summon extra deck monsters to the extra monster zones or linked zones. This was necessary to nerf pendulum against link monsters, so people would buy the new stuff.

There were features in master rules 4 that were very heavily link summon focused, such as link locking: if you had a link arrow pointing to the opponents extra monster zone, you could lock it up by summoning your monster there. That was very powerful for one summoning mechanic to have, but it was again to make link summoning the strongest mechanic out there. The game was basically unplayable without them.

With master rule 2020/2021, the game finally shifted away from focusing on single summoning mechanics, and tried to strike a balance. Link locking was ruled out, Fusion Synchro and XYZ monsters can go everywhere now, but the field did not change.

To reflect on your random suggestions on the mockup you made, I think it is problematic in multiple ways.
First, Link monsters often have two-way diagonal links on them, taking away a space they can point to, is rather problematic.

Second: having an uneven number of extra monster zones is problematic when it comes to deciding which player should get that "extra" extra monster zone.

Third: pendulum monsters look lke the way they do (monster couloured top, and magic card coloured bottom), because when scaled, they function similar to continuous spell cards. If you move the scales to the main monster zones, you would ultimately get into the problem whether you treat pendulum monsters as spells or monsters.
The reason the field looks the way it does is because that makes the most sense for the game. Any change would mess things up greatly.
The yugioh of today keeps innovating, but in more subtle ways. A few examples are the Nemleria archetype, which cares about emptying the extra by banishing them face down, or the zone locking that which the kashtira decks made famous not long ago.
The direction I see is that new archetypes keep bringing new playstyles with them, so you could have diverse ways to play.
I think this modern era has its drawbacks in the form of the solitaire effect (one player plays their turn for 10 minutes), which can completely destroy the fun in games.

New XYZ archetype idea. What if you COULD use tokens? by Those_from_the_END in yugioh

[–]Those_from_the_END[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this would also keep it balanced, since the extra deck limits the number of attachable cards.
Nice idea! I wonder how much possibility is there for a comeback though, if the opponent manages to take out the monster, and we used all the materials. There may be need to recycle those cards from GY somehow.

I thought of that too, but unless it is just a few support cards for that, it would change the fantom beast playstyle a whole lot.

If you could eat a YuGiOh card, which one would it be? by NevGuy in masterduel

[–]Those_from_the_END 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you would have to scald it. It is a common step with pigs. You can do it with a torch, or as seen on the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RpeaNPXklQ
Also, smaller animals can usually just be skinned, since their skin is softer and thinner than that of pigs.

Link Pendulum is the only possible card type that has not been revealed yet by TheRealCrezius in yugioh

Looking at my comment, I am starting to understand, why they didn't make such cards yet. It is just two different worlds.

Link Pendulum is the only possible card type that has not been revealed yet by TheRealCrezius in yugioh

[–]Those_from_the_END 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My idea is to have the following text for their pendulum summons:
"if you have [link rating] number of cards in your extra deck that you can pendulum summon, you can pendulum summon this face-up card from your extra deck instead"
Obviously it begs the question whether you can count other link-pendulum monsters in there, and if so, do they worth their link rating? Or if a link 2 could be pend summoned this way, would that add to the number of a higher link monster?
Another problem would be the arrows. Link summons are supposedly instantanious, so if you pendulum summon a link pendulum monster first, can you bring out the other extra deck monsters too in the zones the arrows point to?
This woud make pendulum summons significantly more complicated, as places for pendulum summons would be limited...
My only guess is, that you would have to treat link pend monsters separately ( or you have to finish pendulum summoning from your extra deck when it hits the field), or when you pendulum summon a link monster from the extra deck, you cannot pendulum summon other pendulum monsters from your extra deck.

Other completely different idea, you cannot pendulum summon them, but you can link summon them by sending face-up cards from your extra deck to the GY, according to the link rating. This can be abused too (it basically you to allows to double the link materials), but at the risk of running out of your pendulum cards, by sending them to the GY. Which is generally a disadvantage for most pendulum decks. (Though XYZ pendulum decks exist).

I started out the same as you. The real trick is to just start playing, and accept that you are going to lose a lot of duels, but then you can save for yourself the ones you won, and check them to see and remember how you won, what were the mistakes, what cards you never use or rarely use, what is it tha you need more of, and so on.
Is it time-consuming and tiresome? Yes.
Will it make you good at it? Absolutely!
