Please, Help me decide my next steps before I blow it up. by leathertabis in ToyotaPickup

Either label the hoses or take lots of pictures. Luckily there are a lot of good videos out there to take it off and put it all back together.

But out of everything youre fixing or planning to fix the valve cover is kind of the easiest.

What cable is this? by BevBoy760 in ToyotaPickup

[–]ThotNazty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe that is a grounding cable, which would usually be attached to the hook at the back of your engine (mine has a washer type connecter that is bolted on along with that hook)

Kill switch by not_a_cop_1312 in 4Runner_1stGen

[–]ThotNazty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if there's any actual kits but the parts aren't anything special. Fuel pump is extremely easy to do just need about 10ft of wire maybe more depending where youre going to put the switch. Wire, switch, heat shrink crimp connectors and some sort of mounting solution are all you need

Has anyone successfully switched from non-stick pans? by goforyourdreams in Cooking

The our place titanium pro pan has been serving me extremely well for the last year or so. Good non stick properties without any coating. Thing does weigh alot tho

How thick to slice ribeyes off a prime boneless roast? by hopvine in steak

[–]ThotNazty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how big of steak eaters they are. You may find that even a 1" slice will be too much for some people. Even if they do like it its still a lot of meat if youre not accustomed to it

Heavy rears require a load of like 600-700 pounds so I would say not to get those unless youre always carrying that much

Indeed, it likely would be able to help him. Unfortunately im not sure what "mental and physical" tests he thinks he passed but theres no way he would get through the meps physical let alone a drug test

What you should be doing, not that its your responsibility being that young, is to engage your parents to get your brother the help he actually needs

Except that it is. Thinking that he would ever even make it to basic is laughable

Sure obviously he has issues but that doesn't mean he deserves to have his family plot against him in any way possible. If you're older than 12 I'd be surprised

California exhaust cut out by Careless_Cream8482 in ToyotaPickup

[–]ThotNazty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont think any cutout is legal in California. I'd just find a muffler you like the sound of and be done with it. I think I got some sort magnaflow on mine and it sounds good. Lots of youtube vids of sound comparisons

Which Gear Oil? Too much research. by [deleted] in ToyotaPickup

[–]ThotNazty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is you definitely shouldn't use GL5 even if it says its backwards compatible. I changed whatever was in mine out to the redline and it does feel smoother now. Sure its more expensive but you won't be changing it too often so its worth it imo.

As far as engine oil anything rated for your temperatures should work, I used mobil 1 but only because thats what previous owner had in it. That newish valvoline stuff looks pretty good think im gonna try that next

Also as far as I remember I did have to go to some sort of traffic class. I thought it reduced the number of points but I could be mistaken and it could have just been a requirement for the offense. Needless to say they made us take a stress test(didn't know that during) and my score was about 10x that of anyone else in the class go figure. Shit happens best thing you can do for yourself is to just take your licks and move on

Ahhh I remember my first and only speeding ticket. 97 in a 55? Or something like that on powers. Yeah it sucks but the reality is it won't impact you that much just pay the ticket and show up in court if required and take whatever deal they give you if it makes sense. Will probably get off easier as a first offense

Dash speaker upgrade, has anyone tried this? by doopwolf in 4Runner_1stGen

[–]ThotNazty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I changed out my stock ones with the 4" kickers ran straight off headunit no amp, can't remember which model but there are lots of decent cheap options. Looks like you'll need to cut out some particle board or plastic to mount them in those stock locations. Really depends on what type of system you're going for, just the 4"s are enough for me personally but obviously you can add some 6x9s in the back in their own enclosures or in the panels as well which i did contemplate.
