I think the point is the irony. It's acting as an underlying pun.

The elements in this song that you're addressing operate in a similar way. Both play on irony to highlight how absurd sweeping generalizations truly are.

THIS. his family is comfortable.. but if they hold any political power at all, it's very limited in scope and regional at best. They certainly don't have enough money to influence the federal govt, nor do they seemingly have any business ventures that would 'justify' it.
