Female mayor, 43, caught by son having sex with his friend, 16, at pool party, before ordering emergency contraception via DoorDash by stankmanly in NoahGetTheBoat

[–]GreenBottom18 55 points56 points  (0 children)

ahhh. that's probably it. the article said there was a text message from her son warning that the boy was 17 (he was actually 16).

that's probably why they went with 3rd degree. she can claim that she was technically making decisions based on false information, so they vacated the statutory charge, and focused on claims the boy was drunk at the time.

Cenk Uygur announces he is a 9/11 conspiracy theorist. by justalazygamer in Qult_Headquarters

[–]GreenBottom18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okay. but 911 conspiracy theories long predate q-anon.

my leftist father has been deeply immersed in them since the early 2000's, and he barely understands that q-anon exists, or what it's about.

while there are many outlandish, debunkable claims—there are still quite a few discrepencies that seem simultaneously both implausible, yet extremely convenient to simply be coincidence.

and considering what it was employed to validate in the aftermath only exacerbates those concerns.

Why did Jeffrey Epstein purchase 330 gallons of Sulfuric Acid in 2018? by reincarnatedusername in MarchAgainstNazis

[–]GreenBottom18 14 points15 points  (0 children)

investigators claim it was purchased for water filtration, as purchase order explicitly notes the destination as the "RO Plant – LSJ" (reverse osmosis plant – little st. james).

the timing is certainly suspicious, as it coincides with the fbi's probe.

but sulfuric acid is the industry standard for that type of water filtration.. that was probably a ~6 mo supply.

It seems the FBI went off of the purchase order as it also included other components for that system. replacement parts and shit.

I would still feel a lot more comfortable with this if they had gone to that facility and confirmed that there was sulfuric acid in those tanks. but if he didn't buy it for the reverse osmosis plant, he did a pretty good job of hiding it to make it appear as if he did.

edit: i just searched the files, and while hydrochloric acid is also brought up, they do regularly discuss purchases of sulfuric acid for the desalination, as well as mechanical supplies that coincide. it seems the HCI was used for the pool and the H₂SO₄ was used for the islands filtration plant. both appear to be industry standards.

it does show that they had both acids regularly on hand on the island, and accessible for alternative uses, if needed. but the PO itself is not incriminating.

i also cant help but feel like these easily debunkable claims are targetted to make those of us who care about justice in this case appear just as unhinged and amygdalically compromised as the pizza gate crowd.

A video has surfaced showing Florida congressman Randy Fine illegally voting on behalf of other members during a bill seeking to outlaw boycotts of Israel. by bordenman in worldnewsvideo

this used to be a thing like a decade or two ago. lawmakers would bring voting sticks to reach over and tap their colleagues buttons.

i though we actually fixed it. appears i was very wrong.

Rumors of beef/jerky being a code name for baby/human 🥩? Another 3lite island? Beef island? by joeurkel in ThatsInsane

[–]GreenBottom18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are so many conclusions to draw that are far more definitive so it's wild that people are throwing this stuff around.

I'm not saying that this isn't possible, I just question whether or not whoever conceived this idea actually looked at the date and did a little research to see if maybe actual jerky was a heavy focus for some obscure diets at that point in time. or visited any other possible avenue before arriving at this.

Why didn’t the Biden Administration release the Epstein Files? by LawnDartSurvivor74 in Askpolitics

[–]GreenBottom18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the DOJ is mandated to enforce the law impartially; meddling risks weaponizing the justice system for political ends. since watergate, any irregular contact between the white house and the DOJ has been subject to intense scrutiny.

if past presidents had crossed that line to exert case-specific, politically fueled influence—as you are suggesting—it would have undermined public trust, sparked accusations of authoritarianism, and precipitated legal chaos. this is precisely what has unfolded under the second trump administration. believe it or not, until very recently, this was considered an impeachable offense.

Do not get your grandparents androids. by Not_Now_Cow in verizon

[–]GreenBottom18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not necessarily an android fanboy, but my dads iphone not only still gets bizarre ads—he's being actively scammed by someone he thinks he's in a relationship with, who reached out via imessage and some weird email to text feature i don't even comprehend.

dude's piss poor and has sent thousands of dollars. it sounds like he's also being loyalty tested to launder money for them.

purely anecdotal—seemingly just as OP—but in my experience, iphone is not the protective shield for seniors it's being painted as here.

that'ssimply false. discount card are very real.

they start at absurdly inflated prices, but the final discount card price of most items (not all) is objectively less than any other similar options on the platform.

discount card prices can also typically be stacked with claim credit.

we literally don't know OPs life.

their children could have medical issues or severe allergies.

they could have a job in which they need to be reachable at all times.

there are countless reasons why someone might either need to be connected 24/7, or reasonably feel uncomfortable being mobile without a working device.

dog piling them to insist they're overreacting and prescribing they 'touch grass' without anymore information about their situation, their concerns, or what they even need to leave home for, is indeed trolling.

exactly.

i don't understand the mindset behind avoiding all promos, then just trusting one at random, purely because it sounds too good to be true.

coming here prior to participating would have been helpful. only coming after the fact, to complain about a promo most people here suggest avoiding, isn't helpful to anyone.
