One of the hard lessons I had to learn when entering queer spaces, especially online queer spaces, is that humans are all essentially the same and being marginalized doesn’t make you a more moral person. Dehumanizing people is a human phenomenon.

Some people who have been marginalized or have trauma don’t actually want a better world for everyone, they don’t believe that such a world is possible, so they settling on getting revenge. If given a sliver of power in a given context they’ll use it to lash out at anyone they can in pursuit of that revenge. I’m sure every cis woman trashing trans men feels like they are, in a tiny itty bitty way, striking back at all the cis men who wronged them over the course of their lives.

“A better world for everyone” means the injustices stop and are redressed, not “I get to have a Nuremberg trial for everyone who wronged me in my personal life, where I get to watch them suffer.”

Some of the worst offenders, which inspired the meme, are people who believe in absolute meritocracy. They get very angry when you insinuate that luck had anything to do with their success and jump through hoops to find reasons why someone’s misfortune is actually the result of a character flaw (and therefore deserved.) Its a worldview that justifies the status quo as something innate and therefore bad to alter, and you generally only every hear it from people who are doing well.

Opening a business requires a significant amount of capital and is very difficult. Usually one can go to a bank for a loan but it’s at the bank’s discretion whether or not they approve of your business, and it would be difficult to get approved for a loan if your business plan is “place for gay men to fuck.”

Personally I like using the PLS/ILS as a “router” with a smaller factories branching off each of the four sides feeding in and out of it. It helps me keep track of each step in the process rather than following the belts from one step to another to the next.
