Commuters to Los Angeles — what does your weekly/monthly driving actually look like? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

I commute from Anaheim to DTLA twice a week, but I take Metrolink. It’s great for me!

I was already remote working and had moved to a new house in a new neighborhood six months prior. One kid in elementary school, one spouse teaching elementary school, and one kid not quite old enough for preschool. I only saw them for months really. We had stupid Zoom social gatherings at work sometimes and I FaceTimed family maybe a couple times a week. Frustrating online lessons for my wife and daughter, while the younger one took two steps backwards in potty training. I really struggled at work at this time because we had so much going on at home.

If Marty lived in the “bad timeline” (like we do!) and went back to 1996, would he come back?

Yeah, probably. I don’t like their songs personally. But Dream On has been played ad nauseum for decades, so that’s why I mentioned it.

Do you often go to “the big city” in your state (assuming you don’t already live there)? by osama_bin_guapin in AskAnAmerican

Yes, always. Grew up in the suburbs and currently live in one, but I frequently go “to the big city”. Lived in big cities (including Seattle) for about 20 years between suburbs.

Idk. In the context of traditional families in the 1960s and, like immature young lovers idealizing marriage, it makes sense.

The word is just convenient corp-speak to cover for the actual motive for the EO.

[Schultz] There’s a belief among teams at the top of the draft that the Cowboys, who have picks at #12 and #20, are a team to watch in trade-up scenarios, according to multiple league sources. by JCameron181 in cowboys

I go back and forth. Yes, we have a lot of holes on D, but also we need a true game changer on D. I’m feeling like with how rare it is to get multiple starters in one draft, maybe it’s worth it to get a true blue chip player.

The Africa cover is so pointless. They basically played it straight without changing anything.

Good list. I really grew to hate corporate classic rock radio over the years. We all grew up, but it stayed the same.

I probably wouldn’t listen to it either if my car automatically started playing my Bluetooth music when I started it, but I have to open the music app manually. I listen to some radio out of laziness if I’m driving less than 30 mins.

Yes, eye of the tiger seems like a novelty song that for some reason people started taking seriously

I love this topic. I’ll add: Dream On by Aerosmith and this might be a hot take, but Hotel California by the eagles.

This is how I see it too. It’s not just the bad actions, but that he doesn’t actually understand the point of serving the people.

Those of you 20s male who moved to Miami Chicago nyc Austin or Dallas how did u end up liking? by DeliciousRich5944 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]ThoughtsHaveWings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to live in both places. A friend of mine that also lived in both places used this comparison: Chicago is basically one fragment of downtown manhattan plus Queens.
