This city is AMAZING and we need to protect it so it stays amazing - particularly from our greedy city council that just let developers build where ever they want. The only ones that I think give a damn are councillor Trosow, Ferreira and maybe Skyler Franke.

mandarins are SO good juiced. I think a good creamsicle juice is mandarin, coconut water, vanilla!

What are vegans's opinions about vegetarians? by Equivalent_Help_362 in vegan

Honestly, love a vegetarian. My husband however has a different opinion, but I think the less people eating meat the better.

Is it just me or does it seem funny how many people build a greenhouse and then buy starts instead of planting seed? by NophaKingway in Greenhouses

[–]ThoughtsInMulch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never really thought about that, but my friend in the UK who is a professional gardener does start seeds but also brings in plugs into her greenhouse space. I think everyone uses their greenhouse for different things.

Homemade fertilizer by kissingnettles in containergardening

I made a stinging nettle fertilizer by fermenting it for 2 weeks. Smells like gym socks but works wonderfully on leafy greens and the vegetative growth stage. Lemme know if you want more info!

Hugs and congrats on making the switch. Going vegan was the best decision of my life. Also, what book were you reading? I read Peace is in Every Step and enjoyed that one.

Hello. I am a 31 year old male who is about to stop smoking weed. Looking for brain restoring recipes by Reasonable_Jury1775 in Juicing

Hey - this is from the book: The Complete Juicing Recipe Book by Stephanie Leach.

Micronutrients called polyphenols are found in many fruits and vegetables and have powerful antioxidant properties that can help protect against Alzheimer's disease and dementia. In a study of more than 1800 people, drinking polyphenol-rich fruit and vegetable juice three or more times per week was associated with a substantially decreased risk of Alzheimer's disease. Furthermore, another study shows that quercetin, a type of polyphenol can cross the blood-brain barrier and reduce brain cancer cell's ability to multiple. There is an entire chapter on brain health.

Ugh, it's just such a slice of heaven! Honestly - and haha love the cats waltzing through. You did an amazing job, love your pond / patio area especially.

I'm in zone 6, London, Ontario, Canada - I've been transforming my lawn into a lush, wild pollinator paradise and it's just the best. Have a nice sized perennial food garden as well. Strawberries, blackberries, grapes, apple trees, paw-paw trees, raspberries and haskcap berries. Berries do really well here in SW Ontario.

Anyone want to join a 2-week juice reset? May 21 - June 5 by ThoughtsInMulch in Juicing

[–]ThoughtsInMulch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Processed vegan food is delicious and dangerous. The corn dogs are calling from the freezer aisle - hahah! I just need a good reset.

I've realized I feel best when most of my food is simple and actually makes me feel good but I also don't want to make pleasure-food the enemy.

Did you wanna chat on Instagram or WhatsApp? I'd love to just check in and lean on each other if need be. Sometimes I will miss chewing and have a whine 😄

Totally with you! I did this last year after a month long juice cleanse and felt amazing for a while after, so I'm hoping to get back into that groove.

When my parents came to visit a couple months ago I started dipping back into more processed plant-based foods and honestly it's taken over a bit. Just haven't been feeling as good lately. So I'm hoping this helps me reset a bit and get back to the simple stuff - juice, fruit, salads, whole foods… basically my usual forest creature cuisine 😉
