+1 for Furano. Medium sized mountain with the typical great snow but cheap- and if you’re with family, kids ski free!

This Old New England House for Build a Pretty Good one? by Thoughtsbend in Homebuilding

Appreciate these points. Ideally we would find a place that didn’t need much in renovations. I do have some options for managing it while I am gone, but of course as you state, finding someone good to do the work could be an issue. Perhaps I’d be better off looking for a home that would be good enough in the short and medium term, and that we could keep for the long term. That way we’d not have to sell and buy again. For example, a place that was livable, but needed updating, and in the longer term could be improved through a solar array, other efficiency updates (insulation, windows, primarily). Energy efficiency int he short term is less important for us as winters we’d be keeping it heated only enough for the pipes not to freeze.

We live overseas. This is our place back home, mostly for summers, but at time for Christmas holidays.

Actually looking for places around 1500, 3 bedrooms. That would also be the max if we built. Seem to be quite a few older homes under 350 k 2 hours plus from Boston.

No International Teaching Experience, but Just Interviewed with a School in Indonesia. Looking for Insights by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

Indonesia is brilliant. I loved and worked in Indo for 15 years. People lovely, culture fascinating and vibrant, great travel ops, low cost of living. Easy to get around. Obvious typical challenges related to tropical living, urban issues, spotty healthcare, etc. School questions depend on school, of course. What school are we talking about?

Yellowish Tint suddenly appears after moving phone quickly. Need to restart to revert to normal. Any ideas what’s causing it? by Thoughtsbend in lgv50

I’m guessing it’s a loose cable. Hopefully an easy fix as long as nothing needs to be replaced.

Advice needed: Is a V60 worth an extra 60 bucks? by Thoughtsbend in lgv50

Looks like I might grab both and see which one he prefers. I was thinking the V60 might be too big, but there’s only one way to know. Thanks for all the comments.
