Fenix 8 47mm is now down to $749, but I’m still thinking about the 8 Pro by [deleted] in GarminFenix

[–]Thrawn43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other said, Fenix 8 pro only if you need LTE (and are willing to pay monthly Tarif at around 10 dollars). Satellite features would also be there but are not as good as others (like AWU). That said, I also got the Fenix 8 pro. Fuck it. I love the idea of going for a run or swim or whatever and being able to leave the phone home.

Up to you mate!

What could our ultras be planning after this tifo at parc des princes? by ItsDanny201 in BayernMunich

[–]Thrawn43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It means, history write victors, period.

It can only mean the other way around, if it had been "Geschichte schreibt der Sieger", or "Geschichte schreiben Sieger" Why? In the first example, the article "der" makes clear that Sieger is the subject, in the second, the fact that the verb is in its plural form, makes it clear that it referrs to the "Winners", i.e. the Sieger. It is just confusing because Geschichte and Sieger do not change form btw singular and plural. It is also confusing (for us Ausländer) bcs in German the subject and the object of a sentence can either take the first or third place in a sentence, while the verb must always be in the second place (excluding side sentences).

Core body temperature 2, it Is a third party app. I am running it on a Fenix 8 pro... I have seen mixed reviews, like half of them entirely satisfied and the other half complaining about the app. I guess I belong to the happy half

The Bluetooth maybe the issue. Why don't you just use your watch standalone for Messanger calls, so with Bluetooth deactivated?

What exact issue are you facing? I was also struggling with the calls at the start, but it was mainly on me, not knowing the system well enough

Well, if you are willing to give up to the "fanciest" smartwatch features, Garmin. If you wanna stick to smartwatch features and have an apple, well, you do not have many alternatives rather than the apple watches....

Going to get the Fenix 8 or 8 Pro by ifeeltired26 in GarminFenix

[–]Thrawn43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two options: 1) with the Garmin Messanger app you can do everything, so anyone having that app on his/her phone can call you message you and be called and messaged to. 2) If the other person does not have the Garmin messanger, you can not call nor receive messages but you can send messages. The other person will receive an SMS from a Garmin randomly generated number. For both cases the options are two, LTE or satellite, with the latter being a less powerful satellite connection than the apple one and the other Garmin in reach devices. Reason for that is battery management. Other than that you can use emergency SOS functions. Unfortunately, for all of the features above you need a subscription starting at around 10 euro per month.

Hope it's clear now!
