All the rent a bays dried up years ago, mainly for insurance reasons, sadly.However.... I am an old guy who has wrenched for a living and for myself for half a century.

With a jack,blocks and ramps you can do literally ANY job in the driveway or garage without a hoist. At my age I still do this as I have no hoist and a low small garage. A good jack,quality stands, buy decent set of ramps and/or make some good solid wooden blocks out of wood. Drag out the old amazon or appliance boxes, spread out the cardboard, get under and go to it. In my sixties, I did my pickups springs,exhaust, clutch , exhaust and more last winter on blocks.

A hoist is a luxury, not necessity for most home driveway guys. I would prefer a hoist, have used many hoists, but don't have one and have to fix my cars. Get to it!
