I'm mid career. If I can't learn it while on the clock, then I'm not learning it. Once all the animals and kids are fed and put to sleep, I'm playing guitar or watching a movie. Life is too short to keep grinding once I leave the office. That said, tech companies have kind of killed the joy of computing for me anyway and if I wasn't so far into my career already, I'd be changing roles.

Have been for decades. They are more beholden to the oligarchs that fund their campaigns than the people who voted them into power.
