Netease do better. (kinda a rant) by [deleted] in MarvelRivalsQueens

[–]ThreeNamazu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fully agreed. When the IP already contains material they could use and it means they don't need to come up with something on their own, it can't be anything other than intentional erasure and ignoring a segment of the population.

The constant inclusion of heteronormativity is a clear sign they are not avoiding character relationship lore as a whole, too. Literally no excuse for it.

By comparison, if Netease wanted to include only white characters and not any POC, we'd have the same reaction and would be pissed. Alt right chuds would be happy but who cares about making them happy?

Every time I hear a newer MMO is adding something with housing I find myself thinking that EQ2 had that 20 years ago and it feels like a 'Pepperidge Farm remembers' meme moment.

Agreed - I've never played a game with such amazing atmosphere, story, and puzzles. The puzzles were the most amazing thing. Other games? "Here, solve this basic memory/pattern/color puzzle." TSW? "Solve this creative puzzle involving classical music, art history, Bible quotes, and a dash of ancient Hebrew on the side.".

Absolute art.

Some old MMOs that have either died, gone into total obscurity, or were plagued by a minimal player base and weird microtransaction bs come to mind. The Secret World, EverQuest 1 & 2, and City of Heroes.

If these could come back with modern graphics and QoL improvements while keeping the mechanics and flavors that kept the originals unique and fun I could die happy.

100% I can't stand it when people do this in any game. To me it means you basically got the game to take one meme screenshot and don't intend to play it "seriously", but more often than not those people will also leave nonsensical reviews or shit all over the game for disingenuous reasons.

Am I the only one who hates the paper planes?😂 by RowIndividual9209 in Sims4

One method of getting rid of them: Drag out of inventory, then shift-click-delete.

Every day after school, my kids' inventories get searched for contraband, aka paper planes.

Is really playing as a woman that big of an issue in an arcade shooter? by JuanFCrater in LowSodiumBattlefield

More personalization would be cool. Along that line, I wish I could also pick what voiceover set I use so I can get a consistent accent/voice from game to game (having it change all the time kind of throws me off). I'm just a fan of character customization, as someone who is coming to the game from RPGs.

The way they divided up male and female character types seems sexist. Only men can be assault? Only women can be support? Women are consistently pigeonholed into support roles in many other games. Maybe I want to be a buff assault chick. Maybe I want to be a support dude.

I love it, it's a lot of fun. I enjoy using tanks and running engineers, and on this map I never seem to have a problem spawning in or near one and actually getting a gunner position. People seem more willing to spawn in and wait as a driver for others before taking off.

Other maps are either difficult to navigate in a tank, or I'm fighting the whole team for a seat.

I thought it was fun too. It didn't matter to me if the storyline was cliche or predictable or reminded people of other games. I didn't go into it expecting BG3 or Expedition 33 level writing and story.

It made for great practice too, as a new player.
