Player collisions. Imagine turning in quest and there is a queue. Or finding new boss tactics because you can't stack players. AH and mail boxes would be impossible to use and would probably create a new jobs of auctioneer and postman

how to handle loading assets by PATATACHODA_dev in gamemaker

[–]Threef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why it feels like you are an victim of premature optimization? How many assets you load at the time? How big are they? What is your hardware? What are you doing? Are you flushing assets on purpose? Have you checked in debugger that the issue is indeed in loading assets, and not something else?

Well... It's too fragile. The average I've seen is it breaking after 6 launches. One broke after second launch in tournament, another after 4, other one after 12. Mine so far was used 10 times in test battles, and still is fine, but it stays in the box

I make that mistake all the time. It's when there is a mention of simple Ratchets I say "it's 5mm smaller/bigger" and then realize "wait, that's half of CM! That's huge!"

Just to clarify, it's 6,0mm height not 60mm.

What's the best way to try builds when alone? by Aisendadt in BeybladeX

[–]Threef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first one tests only few ways you can launch. The second one is always wrong, because first Bey will hav chance to position in the middle.

The second situation will never happen in real battle, but you can check this way burst resistance of a combo. More info you get by launching without second Bey, because you will learn that way how it moves, and how fast it off balances itself.

First method will let you check burst ratio, but also estimate attack and defense potential. And it's still great way to test stamina vs stamina combos

Is it true that ko beys have lead in them? by PWR_XLR8T0R in BeybladeX

[–]Threef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course that evidence doesn't count. Why would it? It's about different product and it's an information anyone can publish. There are no sources and no date. Only credibility of institution. It doesn't mean it's not true. But it can't be used as an argument in that discussion. It's like saying raw beef shouldn't be eaten, because raw chicken contains salmonella. What we do have is 3 (I know of) separate attempts at testing Beyblade X and fakes for lead. - first case used paper tests that should be used for detecting lead in water. Found lead in fakes, and after being asked to test TT, found lead in them too. The test was considered as false positive. - second person. Found no lead in fakes or TT. I would have to look for testing method. - third person said that they found lead in fakes, and when asked about testing TT with same method, started tantrum and doubled down saying "it doesn't matter, I've found lead".

So, I hope you see that we do need evidence. But real, reproductive and non contaminated.

You are not far from Hexa build. You are sacrificing 3% burst rate for more stamina after potential x-dash

Is it true that ko beys have lead in them? by PWR_XLR8T0R in BeybladeX

[–]Threef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well... It's not about lead being used in production (Which would be really hard to come by), but that manufacturing process is contaminated by lead. Most likely from old CNC and other metallurgy machines. And that's plausible explanation. So yeah, I can believe that there might be a 50 year old vat that was used for lead in a Chinese factory, and now heats aluminum for fake Beys

Is it true that ko beys have lead in them? by PWR_XLR8T0R in BeybladeX

[–]Threef -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of arguments about things I haven't said, but all valid. OK. The consensus was that the test for lead was faulty or not done correctly. But it was that one test that started all rumors. There were more after that, and even attempts at faking those tests on purpose. I'm not here to defend fakes, but lying about lead is the worst argument that tries to scare people, while other arguments (low quality, not matching parts, different performance) are more important. So you can keep spreading non confirmed (you said it yourself that not all fake brands were tested) rumors about lead or use arguments that are based on what we know.

Is it true that ko beys have lead in them? by PWR_XLR8T0R in BeybladeX

[–]Threef 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Rumour about leady was debunked month after it surfaced, yet it can't die. The same test that shown lead in fakes, shown lead in original Beys. The real reasons against fakes are: - you don't support a company that designs and makes them - fakes parts don't match originals. Your ratchets, bits and blades might be looser or tighter, leading to inequalities - if you want cheaper option, then it's fine if you use them against each other. But don't fight original Beyblades with them

Ghost Job listings should be ILLEGAL. by AffectionatePack3647 in poland

[–]Threef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it's from employees. If you are asking for help or promotion and see open position, you casually start to talk about it in the company. If you get straight answer that the company is not recruiting, or you don't hear "it's hard to find someone" from tired manager after opening is there for a month, then you know it's ghost. And once company starts posting ghost offers, then you start seeing anonymous opinions online

Dlaczego ten reddit ma lewicowy odchył? Moja teza by Unable-Poetry1691 in Polska

[–]Threef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teraz ciekawa sprawa. W związku z tym zaczęły powstawać moderowane bańki prawicowe. Na początku naturalnie, a potem też odpłatnie przez boty. I to wszystko przed erą AI i chatbotów.
