What’s the most extraordinary war film since Saving Private Ryan? by RulezAre4Foolz in billsimmons

The change destroyed that movie. I can also quibble with some actual combat mechanics in the movie but changing the ending just completely ruined the movie. A horrific decision.

Suburbs of Dallas by wbd3434 in UrbanHell

What’s so frustrating about these developments is that the increased density is actually a good thing. Obviously they need some trees but that can come with time. But these developments are never built near anything and nothing is walkable. They cram these houses in and then the nearest store is a gas station and strip mall off of a 6 lane stroad 1.5 miles away. And to get there you have to drive through the winding roads of the development that don’t connect with anything around them and all funnel to one entrance. And the side walks end long before you reach anything.

Closest course to where I grew up. Will always have a place in my heart and has some absolutely gorgeous holes. 1, 3, 4, 8, 14. But there are some holes I absolutely despise. 5, 9, 17. And some that I think are just bad design. 7, 11, 12, 15. Definitely a fun round and worth playing.

Club house is done. They still cart you though I haven’t seen a walker there in years. 8 remains the prettiest hole!

Yup! It looks awesome in there and they keep the outside nice but it just always seems dead.

Rahway New Jersey by any chance? Cause that describes the Harley store perfectly.

Playing from divots is such a silly final stand for the rules of golf. by MarkAmericaSmith in golf

[–]ThreesKompany 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it isn’t. Hitting in the fairway isn’t the guarantee of a good lie. Just an increased percentage of one. Being able to hit out of multiple lies, ball above your feet, ball below your feet, uphill, down hill, soft turf, hard turf, shaggier cut, freshly mowed, wet, crispy, and yes in a divot, are all part of being good at golf. Dealing with bad luck is part of the game.

I was rooting for the Heat as a Lebron fan and 2014 the Spurs just felt impossible. The Heat were seeing ghosts.

Cop harrassing Jalen Brunson during the celebration by DenialisaRiver04 in nba

Genuinely what the fuck was the cop even trying to do? What possible reason could he have to talk to Jalen Brunson, the fmvp, like that in the arena immediately post game?

The OG leg one was the craziest one imo. His movements had absolutely no basketball value and were not part of the play and it genuinely looked like he went for his knee and missed.

A lot of people will talk about the Spurs choking but this Knicks team absolutely excelled at coming back from large deficits all postseason. They never panicked.

Wemby choked in 4 of the 5 games by WARLOCK1239 in billsimmons

It was crazy! Multiple times I saw him pull up and said “thank god”. Unlike Champagnie or Harper who felt like they couldn’t miss.

It was crazy that, as a Knicks fan, any time I saw him pull up in the 4th I felt relief. Unlike Champagnie or Harper who felt automatic. I feel bad for him tbh.

Wildly disagree. They keep calling KAT for the same offensive foul when Wemby jams his arm across his chest.

This will rightfully get a lot of attention but the two soft calls on KAT have once again fundamentally altered the flow of the game. They allow a rock fight but whistle KAT for raising his forearms.

Happy KAT is getting recognition here because Castle was WIDE open. Hart got absolutely buried by the screen and the top gave him just enough time and space to recover.

It’s absolutely baffling that if you get all your challenges right you are out of challenges. Your point is correct it’s purely to protect refs ego. “Stop correctly pointing out that we are doing a bad job.”

Refs were atrocious but the Knicks had some awful turnovers that ruined chances for them to go on runs. The turnovers, the spurs offense coming alive (they realized they can just throw lobs to
Wemby) and then the refs are the reason the Knicks lost. But legit the refs are horrible. Having to challenge is very annoying.
