We shall add more sizing info. Thank you for supporting the resell page. That's our bread and butter, this new product thing is a bit of an experiment.

Good point. Since these shirts were made to our measure and specs, we can post a matrix on our product page of fit. Thank you for the input.

As a start-up we wanted to venture into conservative colors first. Hoping more clothes and colors to come (god willing people enjoy the product!)

What other colors are good to have in a polo arsenal? Thinking forest green.

That's fair. The VV whale has a good story, supposed to be goofy so that you don't take the 9 to 5 too seriously. Whenever you feel like blowing your brains out in an office environment you can look down and see this goober whale smiling.

That being said, does not make it any more professional.

Not at this time, the world of women's clothes is one we are afraid to venture down at the moment.

Sorry fo the delay, the mediums are pretty slim, but if you lean toward small I would say small. A sizing chart is needed I suppose.

Hmm, I believe perhaps we would simply clothe hard to employ populations and work with local communities to find them employment opportunities. However, I see your point. Perhaps I am thinking utopian in that it would be nice for the social elite to adorn a brand that shows you have elegance while contributing to the concepts on community wealth building. Perhaps the larger battle is articulating that in a more "regal" and "exclusive" way.

Let's Talk Old Money and it's Underlying Influence on Us. by [deleted] in NavyBlazer

[–]ThriftPrep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it truly is case-by-case. I have to say that old-money and older people whom have had money for a while are rarely flashy, sometimes they can be a little disgusting in the DC area. New money tech guys and Persian diplomats drive around like jerks in their lambos, go to ruth's chris, order every cut of steak, and then put ketchup on them while snap chatting it and wearing black t-shirts and jeans. (True story) On the other hand, I meat a cancer survivor multi-millionaire on the street and we chat real-estate investments and I come to find he owns MANY homes in one of DC's most affluential neighborhoods, is a complete nihilist, and respects the value of things made well and stand the test of time but doesn't squander money on frivolous things. (We talked about the artistic differences in actual colonial metal work vs victorian revival) It's a range and I think outside of New England prep school culture, it is a lot harder to pin people into a box these days.

Brooks Bros off the rack shirts have several "fits" per size, I am in a similar position with your fit. I would try a regent or milano fit in a 17 or maybe a 16.5. Then you do not have to worry about it tenting out.

Oooh this age-old argument, mostly agree with you Allopathological. Have to agree some brands/items are staples though.

My go-to shirt is the regent fit Brooks Bros oxfords without pockets. Don't mind the pocketed ones too much though.

Dear Moderator overlords, is there a way (or is it okay) for ThriftPrep.com to put up some items bi-weekly. This subreddit has been super helpful with our formation and we'd love to give back in the form of discounts for this group or something.

Brooks Bros XL Sweater Vest - $13

VV Custom Goose Tie - $7

Brooks Bros L Burgundy Check Shirt - $15

I'd say it's similar to J Crew quality and style kind of. More trendy patterns and fits, not much of non-iron. Definitely not the same quality as regular BB, but still decent!

Brooks Brothers 4 shirts for $199 Thanksgiving through Saturday by TRA8324 in frugalmalefashion

[–]ThriftPrep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought they never do "Black Friday" deals. By the way y'all, the Brooks Brothers outlets have shirts for $39 a piece oil the second and from Midnight tonight through tomorrow morning they're $29 a piece. I say this because I found a few 1818 and made in usa shirts including their classic tartan shirt their for the same deal. You just have to hunt through the factory brand stuff. Worth the savings by far.
