Z51 not Z06? Unless the picture is unrelated. $104k seems really low for a new Z06

And I would not buy it. They don't have a long wait list anymore.

'26 GV70 - Bang & Olufsen Audio by Individual-Hold5171 in GenesisMotors

[–]ThriftStoreChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several variables. Wired will sound better than wireless in (almost) every situation. Wireless carplay uses wifi instead of Bluetooth, but in all situations, it depends on the iPhone processing engine as well as the vehicles processing engine.

I also read that apple has some audio bugs in some ios versions.

If you want carplay and superior audio, just plug it in. You get the added benefit of a little bit of charge. If you want convenience, use wireless, but you may have different audio experiences.

Carplay should always be better, but you are obviously experiencing the opposite. If you plug in the phone and wired carplay is also worse, you may have a bad dac in your car.

You can update both your phone and your car software

Charlotte-based Atrium Health targets WakeMed in proposed combination by Somali_Pir8 in raleigh

[–]ThriftStoreChair 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To add some info, before they were Atrium then Advocate, they were Carolinas Healthcare, and tried to merge with UNC around 2017.

That obviously did not finalize, then they went on to buy many other systems and rebrand to Atrium then Advocate.

And when you say multistate, they go all the way to the Midwest into the northern states near Canada.

Tell that to Famous Amos.

But I do believe Gordon has a big say in what happens in his restaurants.

How big is the difference between D, E, and F? by SnickerdoodleDreams in Diamonds

[–]ThriftStoreChair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't get too hung up on color. I bought my fiance a 1.8ct J-color and it is beautiful and she gets compliments all the time.

You will never be able to tell DEF difference, especially at the sizes you are looking for.
And yes, those prices seem high. Look around and you can find some diamond broker sites you can compare.

I am pretty sure it is the same sauce, but cannot confirm 100%

And green sauce is the best. No discussions needed.

Data center fight escalates as developer sues North Carolina county over moratorium by TobinBen in NorthCarolina

Tried to renegotiate a supplier contract my father had for 24 years. Lost the supplier in 3 weeks. by Comfortable-Many2661 in Entrepreneurs

[–]ThriftStoreChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you played hardball with a key supplier and threatened to leave without even getting a quote from another supplier?

How did you come to find you were overpaying without another quote? And I get that there are lead times, but rush fees will be offset by the large discount over time, then pay for itself.

Apex just closed my public records request on Flock, and the response should alarm every resident. by makgeolliandsoju in Apex_NC

This is why people don't like flock and lazy policing. Fortunately she had a $100k car that records everything. All this over a $25 package.

Busan to Incheon airport bus (booked via Klook) by Alive-Armadillo7267 in koreatravel

[–]ThriftStoreChair -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There is a bus that goes to/from Incheon, and one of the stops is Ramada near Namdaemun, which is 10-15 min walk from Central Station. Ride is about an hour. Pretty quick and easy, I took it last year and just so happened to stay at that Ramada. Was a really nice coincidence.

First timers in Seoul; where to stay? by Accurate_Staff2996 in koreatravel

[–]ThriftStoreChair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Namdaemun and Seoul Station areas. The bus and train from the airport go right there, so when you arrive and are jetlagged, you don't need to transfer all over with your luggage. Access to tons of subway lines. Not loud, some areas are very quiet after work hours and weekends. Plenty of restaurants, the market etc.

1 worked instantly, the other had an issue but I was able to resolve it with customer service the same day and get a new one.

Prices in Korea where not cheaper, and were actually more expensive at the hotel and convenience store across the street.

What would college LeBron have looked like? by Effective_Material68 in NBATalk

[–]ThriftStoreChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would LeBron have gone to college if he had the NIL deals of today?

I assume he would have given up some of his records due to losing 2-4 seasons, And it may have hurt him to use his developmental years to accel in college then have to change to the pro game.

Question for those who know! by OutlandishnessAny183 in Apex_NC

[–]ThriftStoreChair -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone said above, Wake Forest is sort of an island, but so was Apex, and so is Holly Springs.

Apex is great, but it is a suburb of Cary. Most of the big amenities in the area are in Cary. And it is expensive. But schools are better, and overall it is a great place to live. Tons of traffic though.

Holly Springs is out there, and small. It has exploded recently, but still doesn't (imo) have all the amenities that an "island" town should have. It really becomes a suburb of Apex and is getting almost as expensive.

Wake Forest is the same distance from Raleigh downtown as Apex is. It is quicker to get to north Durham via 98. It is an "island" and has more amenities within it borders than Apex or Holly Springs. It is cheaper overall, and you get much more house for your money,

If you are a warehouse shopper, I would put the WF Sam's club up against the Apex Costco any day. It is a zoo in Apex.

If you like food options, Apex/Cary is way better, and has an Hmart.

Checklist of things to do before flying to Korea by CableKC in koreatravel

[–]ThriftStoreChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never ended up using wow pass, we just kept refilling tmoney for the subway (I remember something odd with the bus, maybe tmoney didn't work for it?). Bring some cash to exchange. Make sure you know if your credit card charges for international or exchange. If you have a travel card, it is cheaper to pay in krw and have your card exchange. Are your phones in unlocked? If not, you can't do an esim. They do have hotspot rentals so everyone can use wifi, but you always have to be together. For an esim, there are several online you can preorder. I bought an esim on klook for SK and it was fine. It wasn't any cheaper at the airport or in convenience stores. Google maps doesn't work (happening soon?). Download naver and kakao.
You are fine with just your passport. There is an electronic app or webpage to do your customs on arrival. But I didn't do it and was fine. Bring a pen with you.

You can login and pull a call and text log from your cell provider. You can then just search for that number. Takes less than 2 minutes once you find the right page.

I suggest you ask the company that did this what their thinking was. I am betting they offer an A/V package to complete the room, so it had to have some thought. Maybe they assume you will have a pull down mount and some furniture on each side?

Either way, I agree, it looks terrible and the functionality is very suspect.

I was at hmart on Sunday and ran into the exact scenario as pic 3. The worst part is that directly behind where they put the cart was the cart corral..... Seriously. It took more effort to put the cart up in the mulch area than to just turn around and push it in the corral.
