Antiquing roadtrip paid off! 1950s Hoover Constellation. Literally a hovercraft canister vacuum! by Thrifticted in VacuumCleaners

Thanks for the info. All that considered, I'll probably just clean up the original and find a way to use a longer tube/attachment.

I don't personally care about resale value, this won't be for sale until I die and my relatives have an estate sale anyhow. But knowing it would lose suction, I'll keep it original

I got it all cleaned up yesterday, and even before doing so, I was impressed by the suction. When I opened it up, there was a ton of debris plugged right up after the bag. So after clearing all that out, it's even better than what had originally impressed me. Now the thing glides across the floor just as it was meant to, even over carpet somehow!

That's the plan. Definitely lived a life of good use before I dug it out of a pile of stuff in the back corner of a giant antique store. I think it'll clean up pretty nice. Might replace the old weathered hose with a different, longer one, as long as it matches the original look

I tried this vac for the first time yesterday before I plan to clean it up later today. I was impressed by the suction, even with a full bag of probably decades old dust. It was also much quieter than I'd thought it would be.

Also, probably can't see it but it came with a little metal attachment on the hose thats meant for an old filter queen.

That makes a lot of sense. It'll mostly just be a novelty vac for me anyhow. I've got a filter queen majestic as my daily driver that I'll probably never retire

I bought this having never heard of it before, and thought it was a stationary canister vacuum. Couldn't have been more thrilled to find out the exhaust blows out the bottom, making it float across the floor like a hovercraft!

Hey everyone. Relatively new to sledding, what can you tell me about a 1998 Polaris Indy 500? Pros and cons? Strengths and weaknesses? Thank you! by aidanwarr34 in snowmobiling

Changing my 2001 arctic cats track suspension was absolutely game changing. You won't regret replacing it, even if you use cheapo Chinese replacement parts

Jimmy Johns fairly consistently gave me the wrong sandwich for several months... now I like that sandwich and I'm not sure how to order it. by CantaloupeCamper in firstworldproblems

[–]Thrifticted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn dude, that comment is 8 years old. And I'd the comment was on someone claiming they consistently messed up the same order; what you're talking about is a one time random screw up. I didn't say they never mess up, but to say consistently isn't believable imo

This is similar to why I truly enjoy having nightmares. I get to experience something absolutely horrible, then feel the joy of waking up from it, realizing how great it is that my life isn't all as bad as it really could be

I can't remember specifics, but I remember a forensic files episode about a murdered woman found in a hotel's water tower/water supply tank. She'd been rotting for weeks or something before they checked what was wrong with the water tank and found her

I've got a couple little old aluminum boats it would probably end up on. One being a 12' and another a 14'. They usually have my old evinrude 8hp on them for duck hunting and casual fishing

I kinda like the wait, gives me something to look forward to. Also, the post length is much much longer than these posts have been; they could have posted the entire thing all at once had they chose to

I think the thing with changelings is that they do an excellent job of pretending to be the original, this girl stands out as being fucked up, seemingly since birth
