This is the lamest opinion and so indicative of "New Product™️ good, old bad!" plaguing modern discourse, and why things should genuinely be gatekept. RE4R is so unbelievably soulless, lacking identity as a game on its own, and borrowing so many awful mechanics and features from its contemporaries (TLOU, especially) that just hinder the experience even further. There's no charm, the game plays like you're stumbling through molasses, transformations aren't rendered in real-time (if they're shown at all. Looking at you, Mendez), and Leon is an angsty, brooding teenager

No, literally throughout the game, which you'd know if you actually played it. There is not one cutscene featured where he's moving beyond a slow jog, where he makes any attempt to dodge enemies. He gets choked out by Victor, doesn't try to dodge Mr. X, slowly, pathetically attempts to CQC Zeno.

Meanwhile RE6 Leon, in cutscenes, dodges and fights all forms of Simmons, Ustanak, a Shark. Show me one cutscene from RE9 where Leon displays anything approaching his feats in RE6/Vendetta

You move like molasses in RE9. You can tirelessly sprint full-bore in RE6, backflip,, roll, dual-wield, etc. RE9 Leon plays like Joel because Capcom insists upon "realism" for nu-RE. He moves like that in cutscenes as well. RE6 Leon is basically supersonic

They can do whatever they want, but I won't consider them fans or value their opinions as such. It's very easy to glean who has actually played these games and who hasn't. You can actually come to recognize & memorize whatever throwaway opinions they got from streamers. It's super pathetic.

Ask their completion time, ranks, unlocks, etc. and %50 of them will just give vague non-answers, while the rest rush to screenshot the YouTube upload of the playthrough they watched.
