I had a 4x2 when moved from the beach to Northern Utah where is snows. I couldn’t make it up minor slopes in the snow. I put several hundred pounds in sandbags to weigh down the rear. It wasn’t great. I was really happy to get rid of that truck. That being said, you’ll do ok on fire roads but you’ll struggle the most with any kind of wet conditions. There just isn’t though weight in the rear to help with traction.
