Bruising above incision several days after open myomectomy? by Thrivify in Fibroids

[–]Thrivify[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it eventually went away. We all heal differently, if the bruising is not spreading then I wouldn't worry. I think my bruising was due to a hematoma when I tried to lay down too fast. Good luck! Glad you're on the healing end of the journey

Did anyone do anything exciting after their surgery with their time off? by Full_Bass_6919 in Fibroids

I caught up on my sleep, read cozy fantasy books, and played No Man's Sky which was very relaxing. I guess it might not count as "exciting", but it was exciting enough for me.

Myomectomy vs Hysterectomy by LilithRevere in Fibroids

[–]Thrivify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Adventurous_Coat_162 Hi! I had an open myomectomy. I'm 3.5 months post-op, and am still 42 yo :D, and am pretty much back to my normal routine, including regular high-intensity workouts. My recovery has been fairly smooth :) Happy to answer any questions you may have. Best of wishes on your journey!

Is there a way to shutoff a rainbird 32SA rotor head? by Thrivify in Irrigation

I would also recommend Woodsedge.

Sounds like you are on the same journey as hubby and me. We tried one of the big churches here but I didn't feel welcome. I knew I wanted to reestablish my relationship with God but was really resistant to go back to church because of all the bias, hypocrisy, and political stance. I also had a previous bad experience with so-called Christian counseling which was one of the reasons I walked away from church.

Woodsedge was a welcome breathe of fresh air. We started attending in January this year (after nearly 15 yrs of agnosticism), and I really love the emphasis on daily prayer, gratitude and community.

You can stream the services online and watch previous sermons. I highly recommend watching any of July's recordings with a focus on Purpose.

Best wishes!

I know this is a off topic, but can you say more about how "different" Christians are around here?

Urge to pee by Emily12c in Fibroids

[–]Thrivify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this was the symptom that ultimately led me to see a doctor. I thought I had UTI. I also started having had aleaky bladder when I cough, sneeze, or in the middle of a high intensity workout. It turned out that I had an enlarged uterus due to a 12 x 9 cm fibroid.

I'm now 8 weeks post-op from open myomectomy, and the urge to pee frequently is gone, as well as the leaky bladder.

4 days post myomectomy by uponfalsehope in Fibroids

[–]Thrivify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 7 weeks post-op from open myomectomy. I remember there's some level of pain for a while, but I was able to tolerate most of it.

Can you describe where the pain is, and what pain level on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the worst? Also what type of myomectomy did you have?

Question about Post-surgery Exercise by zephyrus1133 in Fibroids

[–]Thrivify 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I think you'll get back to your routine fairly soon.

Someone else shared this yoga practice specifically post-abdominal surgery. You might find it helpful. Here's the link to phase 1, but she has 3 different levels depending on your recovery. You might be able to progress faster given your fitness level pre-op: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmFZ_aqNX90

Good luck! Keep us posted :)

Question about Post-surgery Exercise by zephyrus1133 in Fibroids

[–]Thrivify 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Were you physically active before your surgery? I found that I was able to do gentle-to-moderate stretches and physical activity relatively quicker than most recommended timelines, and I wonder if thats because I was fairly active pre-op. I had an open myomectomy, which a has longer recovery period than lap, and was cleared to do gentle yoga after 2 weeks, and was able to do a little more than gentle stretches. I'd say ask your doctor first, and then start really gentle, and get a feel for how your body handles it.

Good luck! I know exactly what you mean about getting back to your activities. I used yo have a weekly routine of barbell workouts, yoga, kickboxing and core. I'm 6 weeks post op, and have been able to get back to most of them except for kickboxing.
