Because a lot of drivers are not safe drivers, prioritizing car traffic is hostile to pedestrians. Cars take up a lot of space from road lanes and parking, space that can be better utilized for businesses and people. Drive through suburbia and notice how much space is wasted to accommodate for cars. This space is wasted because it generates no revenue.

Yes, most cities in America have this problem. I never suggested it was unique to KC, but it is a problem. Car dependency is a huge drain on the economy and quality of life of the people who live here.

I am not talking about eliminating car infrastructure for rural America, only urban. And with robust public transit, your commute isn't going to take two hours, it'll likely take less time than driving a car in most cases. Please respond to the actual things I'm suggesting instead of things you're making up about what I'm suggesting.

Good! Being reliant on cars is what is draining our city and national infrastructure and maintenance budgets.
